I'd love to add homelink visors to my "98 base Mark VIII, but won't spend $100 to do it, which is the cheapest I see on ebay. If you have some tan/beige visors that will fit my car for around $50, let me know. Bob.

If you're handy, you can install a Homelink module into your existing visor. I did it on my 97 4 or 5 years ago.

I have 95 tan double visors for a non sun roof car with a non code hopping transmitter. I also have a black transmitter only with code hopping capabilities. I also have a set of black double visors from a sunroof car with a non-code hopping abilities. PM me if Interested.

Did you have a thread on that?

Unfortunately no. I didn't have a camera at the time when I did it.

However, if you carefully pry apart the 2 halves of the visor, you can pull the fabric out and expose the plastic underneath. There, you'll see an indent where the Homelink module is intended to go. You can cut it out with a dremel tool and solder the wires to the power/ground wires that are already in there for the lighted mirror.

Just be VERY careful with the fabric when you're prying the clamshell apart. It can rip very easily.

The visors that I bought were not correct for the year (different shape) so I decided to pull the Homelink out of it and put it in the existing visor. Here's some pics
