Good day everyone. My name is Paul and I live North of Seattle, WA. I joined the forum about a month ago and have gained some pretty good tips on the LS. Thank you. I have decided to take on a pretty big project with an 02 LS that tried to be a boat. Quick history on the car. It went through Katrina then ended up for sale in an auction. The buyer at the auction lives north of me just a bit in Canada. He was not able to get it across the Boarder because of the paperwork. He sold it to the person that I bought it from last month, (Sept. 2010). The poor car has sat for over 5 years with nothing done to it. The front windows were all the way down, the Sunroof and one of the rear windows were partially down the entire time. I towed it home and within the first day I pulled the door panels etc. ran jumper wires to the window motors and Hell if they all worked. Smooth too!
I'm still deciding the course that I'm going to take with it. I would love to keep as many original parts as possible for the challenge but I've also been looking at buying a second car. Preferably one that has a blown engine/tranny or crashed. There are a lot of options I'm considering right now. (Even a GEN 2). I have a line on 2 (Gen 1's) right now but it is hard to find a cache of parts in the Great Northwest.
I'm going to Sema again this year (first week of Nov.). I already have my plane ticket but I can use that another time and drive my Suburban down there and trailer a car back from the South. If anyone has an LS to sell or trade, mail me. I'm looking for a car that needs work not a show piece. I do have a 1983 T-Bird Turbo Coupe that I may consider trading. I love this car but it has sat for the better part of ten years. I started to restore it 6 years ago when I hurt myself making it anywhere form impossible to very painful to use the clutch. The LS will have to be my new Hot Rod.
If you can bring your car to Vegas, driven or towed that would be great. If not I'm willing to drive and get it. I have the extra time right now and I love the Southwest. You can mail me at fx@betterfuel.org if you wish.
I will try to find some pics of the Bird today or I will get some new ones if I make it to where it parked. Funny thing: I don't believe I have any photos of it from a digital camera. This is a long post I know but this is my first hello. I just started searching for the original owners. If by some chance someone on here knows about this car or the owners it would be great to get some pictures/history of it from them. Your clues are: It was purchased from Lamarque Ford/Lincoln Dealership in the New Orleans area. I believe it was Kenner, LA. The Trunk Lid has the Lamarque Sticker on it and to Narrow it down quite a bit, there is a Kiwanis Bumper Sticker on it as well. Picture below. (Bumper Sticker, BLaaa!
I appreciate this site and hope to use it for quite some time. I'm still getting used to the site and all of its bells and whistles so be patient with me if I make a Dumbass out of myself. So far I have had some trouble searching for topics and getting good results.
