While hard working folks like us are being civil and paying taxes, Michelle Obama her daughter and 40 of her closest friends are having a getaway in spain at a top luxury resort where ritzy people such as some oil family saudis and hollywood stars stay. 400 to 2500 dollars a night, it was said on cnn that they would take up around 70 rooms, 1/3 of the hotel. So that is where a lot of our taxes are going, then there is also around 110 secret services in attendance, oh we pay for that as well, and another thing, why could she have not gone somewhere like the california coast, and pumped that money back into some part of our economy, no she likes spain, i say :q:q:q:q her and :q:q:q:q this government, they are some selfish bastards up there, i almost wonder if michelle ever had a spec of dirt under her fingernails.

I would like to see them visit the battered gulf coast to show that it's OK to vacation there. They certainly lost a lot of tourists this summer!

I find it amusing how the Administration said Louisiana was a fine place to vacation in, even with the whole OMG! OMG! Oil spill! (yawn). Bt I didn't see them spending their last vacation there.

As far as the First Lady? Silly subjects! Vacationing in the US is more than fine for you! Only people like her should be able to vacation outside of the country. After all, you (we) need to spread the wealth around, remember? That means everywhere, not just in America.

People like these clowns make me sick to my stomach. We (as a nation) need tourism (and every other kind of) money, and they go overseas to one of the most expensive hotels in the world... I'm sorry.. Resorts in the world.

It is outrageous how the media not only is silent when criticizing her behavior, they actually seem to be boasting about it.

The double standards applied to politicians based upon their party affiliation have become so insultingly obvious, there is on rational, clear thinking person left who can deny it.

This trip is going to cost the American taxpayers (and their grandchildren) nearly half a million dollar. There isn't even effort to combine this trip with international policy or outreach- this is a vacation and party for socialite Marxist Michelle Obama.

And none of us here have even felt it necessary or appropriate to bring up the secondary issue, why is Obama vacationing separately from his wife and children on his birthday? I'm increasingly coming to believe that the "family man" image that we've been fed is absolutely nonsense. That might also explain why he's so tone deaf when it comes to his judgment when speaking about his children in public, or speaking in "their voice."

Barry and Michelle My Belle are taking what's theirs. See, they've been oppressed by the rich white man for decades, and this life of opulence is OWED THEM. Now it's time for payback.

I remember hearing Karl Rove on this subject - he said Bush would take a trip and go one place (like his ranch) for ten days so it wouldn't disrupt everything and cost extra money in logistics. Contrast that with Obama, who has to scramble the SS and coordinate flights and caravans for 1-night trips to NY for a Broadway show, then off to California to go on the Leno or the View, etc.
