Damn, sorry about your luck. I would of tried to work a deal w/ the douche who hit me. Would of been like $200 or so and its forgotten. Looks pretty innocent damage wise but oh boy would I faint if I had an estimate taken.

Any dents or is it just scuff marks and what not?

I took some goo gone and some hand waz and its almost impossible to tell.....just a 108.70$ mirror missing.........If anyone has a 2000-2002 mirror they wanna sell I have cash A need it FAST.....so ......please let me know

I will take take it to grandpa's and get it buffed out so it should look pretty good after all is said an done

He hit you so it should in no way effect your insurance, only his. I know that whenever I have been hit by some other dum bass i was not penelized on my insurance. What makes you think you will be???

I was under the impresson that I still had to go thru my insurance.....I know that anything!!! even a windshield that is free in the state of fl goes against you .....anything that is reported (even if no claim is made) they still count it as an incident......So o well I got everything off just need a mirror Im sure someone has one on here.......

SilverLS, I was recently in an accident, that was not my fault. It’s a pretty easy process (here in MA anyway) to fill out a claim. Get an accident report from your local PD. Fill it out. Bring it down to your insurance agency. They will look it over, have you sign a few things, and they take it from there. They contact the person that hit your car's insurance agency and will cut you a check when they settle everything. For me it took about a week.

If you’re not at fault you won't pay a thing, and it will not hurt your record.

mirror

I swiped my driver's side mirror on a concrete post.
it happened about a month ago, I was backing out of the parking lot and I miss judged the distance the the post. BAM!
mirror came off.
I got it replaced for about $300.
if you havent taken off the mirror yet, you should cut your wires one at a time. at least that's what my dealer told me to do.

My sons have been in a couple of fender benders that weren't their fault. I never went through my insurance company. I never let them know. I dealt directly with the other person's adjuster. No need to let your insurance company know a thing.

By the way, if a new windshield dings you, you need to find a different insurance company. When I lived in Idaho. we replaced windshields at least once a year and it NEVER hurt me. As a matter of fact, I receive a discount because of no claims. Windshields are a lot different than accidents.

Yeah I have progressive and when I smashed the windshield the next year I got a report from my insurance and It was one incident (windshield)

Well too late know .....next time I will know better and I will get it taken care of....I still need a mirror guys......

This is true. My wife got rear-ended (lightly) by some stupid kid yapping on a cell phone. Clearly not her fault, so, after discussing it with my insurance agent, we made a claim on the kid's insurance. Long story short: their insurance company (Geico) cut us a check for the full amount of the repair costs. The best part is that there was no claim on our insurance. Remember that even thought the accident is not your fault, the number of claims you make on your insurance can be a factor in your costs and possibly your renewal.
