OK...despite all the controversy...after tonights performance I must give a huge round of applause to Torrie and his tunes. I had about 6 races from the hole...

Most noteably I walked two foxbody 5.0 mustangs (even though they had trouble hooking up...they still couldn't catch me) and two BMWs (one lookalike M3 - just a suped up 325li, and the other was 525li I think - 4dr...no decals). One of BMW drivers that raced my buddies 5.0 foxbody stang opted out on racing my Lincoln saying it was "too fast"!

So much for the "3.9L...isn't that a V6?" comments....

It's a proud day when one (a BMW owner in particular) fears our 3.9L LS more than a suped up 5.0L Mustang.

Thanks Torrie!

p.s. I'm sorry I don't have any video clips...I know that kinda puts a damper on the whole story but one kid did have a video camera and got everything on tape. Problem is I didn't know him...but I will do everything I can to get a copy and post it when/if I do...

great to hear that the xcal2 made a big difference!

do you have intake/exhaust/gears?

What are the best gears this car can run on, if you dont mind me askin.

there were 2 sets iirc. at some point (03 i think) they changed from 3.38 to 3.51 or was it 3.31 to 3.58? Anyhow you can switch to the lower gears and recalibrate w/xcal if you don't have those gears already.

u could probobly walk thoes bmw's even if u were stock.. my friends got 1995 325is (5spd), 1998 328i (auto) and 1998 528i (auto) and i walk them hard..

I think its street racing, so no times.

My Xcal2 is on the way, can't wait. I'll be able to see the time improvement as I've ran mine abit against the clock. I may even go to the track and run several times without it, then load it up to see the difference.

The gear swap is 3.31 to 3.58. I'm going to do that later this month if I can find the right gears. The 3.58 gears came in some LSs that were made in 1999, I am waiting on the dealership to get back to me on a price quote. I'm guessin no more than $160 plus $100 for a gear box and some labor $.

Right now I have exhaust (40 series flowmasters) and the KKM intake to go along with my XCal.

I was having problems hooking up at first - believe it or not - so I lowered tire pressure and really killed my buddies 'stang. lol. I was also running 95 octane gas.

It was street racing - I know I'm asking for it, I just can't help it! You shoulda seen the look on some of these kids faces with their little ricers, and more noteable, the guys in the 'stangs, Z28s, BMws, and Audis - so unfortunately there are no times.

Racing BMWs is a love/hate sort of thing for me. On one hand, I know the LS is in direct competition with the BMW so I love to beat them, on the other hand I never know exactly what the :q:q:q:q I'm racing! 325i, 328i, 525i, 528li, il, this that. Most of the guys remove their emblems so not only do I not know what kind of car they are driving but more importantly what they have got done to it! The one's I raced were definitely not stock. They both had exhaust and intake and I wouldn't be surprised if they were chipped.

Going to the track/dyno to test the differences is the only way to go. One thing I know for sure is that I no longer struggle to "crawl" up in speed after 100 mph - I accelerate to over 135 mph in no time at all. Also the shift points, as I stated many times, launch my car ahead.

You can hear the belts squeak when I shift (originally a big worry of mine - although it doesn't seem to be much of a problem) and it almost sounds like a blowoff valve on a turbo. lol. I have that SCT emblem on my car, people were really surprised by the raw power of the "SCT" LS. hehehehe

With all this hype, I'm stating to get interested in the "xcal2", it says you can store up tp 3 custom tunes.
What custom tunes are people getting???? What would you guys recommend??

I plan to give Brad @ Livernois a call today about your Xcal2 bro.

Edit: Brad should be sending it out today and emailing me your tune within the week. Total is cost is.......well.....PM me for that... :D

Does anyone have updated link, the one in this posted by QuickLS.. seems not to work, for me at least?

Seems to work for me Mac...don't know what to tell ya. Just to a search for this subject. That's where he pulled the link.

As far as the Xcal...yeah...give me a month or two...I'm right behind ya.

Are you stationed at Scott, also every been west to Whiteman?

Is the Xcal something you always have to have or can I find someone that already has one, give them like 20 bux to tune the car and give it back?

that would be nice wouldnt it... i think it only works for one car because of the VIN number..
