Hey guys/girls... i decided that i will order the xcal2 in about a week or so... anyways my questions are..

1.Is it easy install/program?
2.Can i drive the car on the best Mode for most power all the time without my engine dying?
3.Will it waste more gas with normal driving?
4.Should i get intake and exhaust before i get xcal2?(i did the airbox mod and felt a little diff)
5. If i get Xcal2 then later do intake and exhaust will i need to order it all over again to get the most power out of thoes mods?
6. Overall hp gain on a pretty much stock car? and do u regret it any?
7.Where can i get it and howmuch will it run me? (i could have searched but might as well ask with all the other stuff)
THANKS GUYS.. I NEED THIS FAST MY 120 MPH GOVERNOR IS PISSING ME OFF..

1. Yes.
2. As long as you don't cheap out on gasoline...
3. Your right foot will probably be heavier than before...
4/5. You'll probably get more gain from the XCal, but even if you do those later, if any change to the program is required, your tuner can update the tune file and e-mail it to you. Huge benefit of the XCal 2.
7. Torrie at http://www.fastpartsnetwork.com/ seems to be the preferred tuner here.

I hope you are not driving that fast on public highways...

no i usualy dont drive that fast... but once in a while when im taking a trip i like to get it up to 120 or more if i could when its nice and straight without cars in way... u all did that before probobly.

Most fatal automobile accidents are single car crashes. One tiny tiny little thing goes wrong at that speed your history.

I dunno about that statement, the LS isn't exactly Stable at high speeds, I can feel it get pretty loose at those speeds. If you want a real stable, safe feeling car at an extremely high speed, go for a Lexus LS430 or BMW 7. The larger sedans hold the road, the smaller ones tend to blow off a little quicker.

Untill this LS I have driven BMW's for more than 29 years. From 320Is' to 735s'. I can only speak to my 04 LSE, but it handles at straight line speed as well as any car I have owned with the exception of my Alpina modifed 635 Csi Euro and my 1966 Shelby GT 350. If yours feels loose or light on it's feet at speed there may be an issue with tires or suspension damping at work. Your car should get a set at about 80 and feel stable to about 120+ where it will begin to respond to side wind. This assumes a fairly calm day.

The programs thay offer in the xcal is good, But the best thing is to have a Dyno session to tune it. The car was a preformed good after the loading of the program, But after the dyno tune is when I was realy happy

Not having tires rated at those speeds will kill you quicker than anything. That's why the speed limiter is set to where it is...because that was the max allowed on the tires it came equipped with. If you didn't upgrade to allow those higher speeds, you're living on borrowed time.

O.E. Tires on a V8 are all V rated for speeds up to 149 mph. Even the V6 ride on at least a H rating for up to 130mph.

I thought the non-sport (and non-sport option) pre-03 LSes were limited to 133mph - matching their H-rated tires.

in 03+ all LSes were limited to 133mph - to comply with some sedan test standard.

The speed rating on a tire is really for prolonged driving. I don't think a quick trip up and down from even 150 would be dangerous on 133 tires. If you do sustained high-speed driving most recommend dropping 2-4 psi from the tires.

i dont plan on staying at 130+ for a long time im just too young to die... i would like ot take it up to 140 tho since i never had a car that can go that fast they all had a limiter on like 110 or 115....

Must be nice to have a Shelby, my 69 coupe wants to lift it nose at 120. Had a guy follow in a newer firebird once and said I was doin 145. I don't know if I was really going that fast but I do know that I had to slow down because I couldn't even steer my car because the front end was feeling too light.

Had is the key word here. The GT 350 ( Webbers, Detroit Locker and everything ) was one of my toys that was sacrificed to a new baby in the early 70's.:)
