quickest mark VIII's?

I read in November last year that Dennis said his car SHOULD do 10s, and he was going to adjust shift points. Then in March of this year he posted about doing consistent 11.5 runs. So he hasn't hit 10s as of March. Not taking anything away from his car, since it is fast, which is what this thread is about.

Yea, I remember reading some posts about him lately running mid-to-low 11's.

VERY impressive, to say the least. I mean come on, were talking about a Mark VIII running low 11's and may even see a 10 second run this early summer. I'm stolked for the guy, but I agree he needs some improvement in the communications part. But hey, aren't a lot of full time mechanics a bit grumpy at times ? Very busy schedules, and I could see him being upset at times when people call him, like myself LOL, asking him about things like MAF sensor's and chips, when he is rebuilding an engine or in the middle of another project. He got to be one hel| of a busy guy, but I still think he could improve in some places.

To get back to the subject, I can't wait to see what Joe's, ponyfreak, brother 's new project Mark is going to run. Thing looks like it's ready to be complete. He said he's pushing for 500 RWHP. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I guess SUPERCHARGED is the way to be these days. Hopefully in a couple years I could manage to slap one on. :Beer

Dennis has never built an engine in his life. He pays other people to do it.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, just wanted to clarify.

so no one has had a mark 8 in the 10's yet (or at least no proof)
damn guess i'll just have to make my own then :wrench ....lol

PSH..... Keep Dreaming ! :Beer

LOL. :joke

What's planned, Mike ?

I should make it known that this is not gonna be N/A.

Right now, I have a 5.2 Stroker (Re-Sleeved' 96 Teksid block) with Fully ported 03 heads sitting in the garage. When money allows, I'm gonna have a KB 2.4L blower to bolt on top of it. This will be run through a cryo treated T-56, and a set of 4.56's. If I feel like getting insane, I'll get a bottle to mount in the trunk. :)

I'm gonna have a .5:1 6th gear ratio, which will help out with the cruise RPM quite a bit. Here with in the next few months, your gonna see ALOT of crap comming out of my garage. I think you guys are gonna be impressed with it.

Say, what ever happened to this? I wasn't a member on this site at the time, but just curious, would have been sick! Sorry to bring back an old thread guys. :shifty:

Pretty sure this is the same mark viii, Byron and great lakes dragaway are the home tracks in the northern Illinois area..can't imagine there are many high 10 second black lsc's around

Do you know how many stickies we'd have if we made all the thread the members wanted sticky ... I belong to a Motorcycle Forum that has 2 pages of sickies before you get to the new threads. But it is a great old thread.

Tom kaspers mark hardly qualifies..tube chassis car with anything but a mod motor..but in any event it is pretty damn fast..how many different set ups has this car gone through? Cause I've seen older pics of this car from I'm guessing sometime in the late 90s with some kind of mountain motor on the bottle.

Honestly, Burbank's LSC is far more impressive to me. He utilizes the stock block and from what I have heard a stock 4R70W with a JMOD and still manages 10s. The Outlaw Mark VIII is hardly a Lincoln any more except for some of the body panels. There is something that tickles me pink about a full weight Mark VIII in street trim with heated leather seats and all the options that pulls 10 second 1/4 mile times. People like him give me big visions for my car. :shifty::D
