It might be. I havent taken a real good look at it because I assumed its not because the coolant level stayed the same. Ill take a look at it soon. Is it relatively easy to remove and install a new one? Just looks like a few bolts and some hoses holding it on.

I keep getting leaks in my cooling system over periods of time. A pinhole in a hose, cracks in plastic near the thermostat housing, and a seal chipped and allowed a leak in the past. All those problems were taken care of but now there is a very little amount of smoke coming from near the degas...

Well keep posted on if you find the problem, we might have the same one. I've had no luck with the ford dealers either in the past, haven't tried a Lincoln one yet.

Is there any tests I can do to determine if its a vb or pcm problem without having to go to a dealer?

Exactly, thanks for the heads up. Seems like more of a hassle to do that rather than spending a weekend swapping transmissions. So I think that might be my best option. What do you guys think?

In my other thread I was told the PCM needs to be the same year, which its not because its an 04. Also it said that a PCM problem is rare in terms of causing shift problems. This makes me lean towards thinking its a mechanical issue. Which if thats the case, swapping transmissions would be the...

Alright, well the trans i could swap in is in good shape. But is there anything i should do to it before reinstalling it? Cleaning, replacing parts, etc.?
