    For Sale 2005 Lincoln LS V3.9L 8 Engine - 35k miles

Actually, yes, I still have this. I left it at a friend's house because I didn't have enough room in my trailer. I was intending to go back in March to pick it up. If you need it before then, you can make arrangements with him. It's located near Crivitz, WI.

    For Sale 2005 Lincoln LS V3.9L 8 Engine - 35k miles

I have a complete 2005 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8 Engine with 35k miles on it. Bought it as a spare but I sold my car and have no need for this anymore. Originally paid $1100 from Bay Auto Parts in Green Bay, WI which I still have the receipt for. Never installed - haven't even taken it off the pallet...

    Caveat emptor

Amazon carries a lot of Motorcraft (OEM) parts which are reasonably priced with quick shipping. Motorcraft O2 sensors run around $40. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000IYISY8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Best COP's for the money

Point taken. eBay is the absolute last place I go to when I look for parts. I just couldn't wrap my head around the $400 it cost for ignition coils when there are cheaper/better alternatives out there. Of all the parts I've replaced on my car, the coils were the only thing that was...

    Best COP's for the money

Motorcraft coils are the way to go if you have the money. However, I couldn't justify spending $400 on coils for my 8 year old LS. Someone else on here bought a set of AIP Dragon Fire Performance coils on eBay and was very happy with them. The seller even emailed him the spec sheet. I was a...

2000 LS V8 has rattling and knocking sound

I agree, probably time for a new mechanic. I can't believe they were so quick to jump the gun and determined the noise was "rod knock" when it clearly sounds like valve train/timing chain noise. Not to mention they just replaced a timing chain tensioner. BTW, did they just replace the bad...

Lincoln LS miss fire turns into a night mare!!!

Before you hooked up your noid light, did you check to make sure you were getting 12V at the #3 & #5 connectors? Don't know if your 2003 is the same but this should help:

Changing the Front Wheelhub/Bearing plus some ideas

Get the Timken hub assemblies. Some of those cheaper hub assemblies do not include the protective sleeve on the mating surface which is needed to prevent galvanic corrosion between the steel hub assembly and aluminum knuckle. I just did the front wheel bearings a couple of weeks ago and the...

    Pinging issues

Fixed! I replaced both o2 sensors and it made no difference. I did, however, notice that the o2 sensors cycle a bit faster on my scanner. I still don't understand why the pinging virtually disappeared right after disconnecting the o2 sensors. The next morning, it was pinging like a sieve...

    Pinging issues

Update: I disconnected both the primary (upstream) o2 sensors and the pinging is 90% gone. Made a few WOT runs without any pinging but I noticed it a couple of times where I accelerated quickly while cruising. New Motorcraft o2 sensors are on the way.

    Pinging issues

Ah, now that makes sense. The EGR valve's I'm familiar with, the vacuum source comes from the EGR solenoid. On the LS, it comes directly from the intake manifold. The top vacuum port on the solenoid, it doesn't hold vacuum. Is it suppose to hold vacuum?

    Pinging issues

My 2006 LS developed pinging issues a couple of weeks ago and I can't figure this one out. It pings on medium/heavy loads when the engine reaches normal operating temp and sounds terrible at 75%-100% throttle. I first noticed it after filling up at a gas station with 91 octane and thought it...

    brakes

+1 I didn't know Akebono pads were popular on this platform also. I've been running them in my 3000GT VR4 for years and they are definitely great pads. I'm currently running Akebono Euro pads and Bosch Quietcast rotors on my LS. No dust and stops great. I've got about 5k on them and the...

Cracked lug nut, can't remove wheel, HELP!

It might be better to just replace the lug nuts that come with covers. The OEM 19mm lug nuts come with chrome covers which makes it difficult to slip on a 19mm or 3/4" socket. I ended up rounding off a few of them as I was torquing them down so I decided just to replace them all. I had a...

2005 Lincoln LS V8 Sport Overheating Issue

Weird. The 2006 service manual calls for Motorcraft Premium Gold VC-7-A aka Zerex G-05 ---> http://deneau.info/ls/s6x~us~en~file=s6x33004.htm~gen~ref.htm The "gold stuff" (Hybrid OAT) is an ethylene glycol based fluid, phosphate-free, and has small amounts of silicates to inhibit rust and...

    DATC Module trouble codes

Sounds like the a/c is doing its job. Do you mean it's blowing out hot air? Can you hear the compressor clutch engage when you turn on the A/C? If not, you're either low on refrigerant, have a blown #1 fuse (10A - engine compartment) or you have a bad A/C relay. I'd recommend checking the...
