Ok thanx guys for everything. So if I wanted to replace the tranny, anywhere I can get it cheap? And does it have to be a Ls tranny? I read somewhere that the Ls read modeled after the Jaguar. Could I use any if their parts?
The hose that leads from the drivers side head gasket has some milky oil there. But after taking off the cover again there isn't any milky oil. Just in the hose.
So if the drivetrain seized, why wouldn't it start back up? It turned on just fine and was moving before the loud clunk. Then it just creased to jump again. Tried to jump it with my brothers truck but to no avail.
Btw, I tried jumping it and banging on the starter. Nothing. I have a battery charger that I'm going to hook it up to in the morning for a couple of hours.
I just recently read somewhere that it might be the shift solenoid. But I changed the gaskets because the drivers side started to show signs of failure. And I changed coil pack 8 because it came up on the monitor that 8 was misfiring. Since I had it all off I replaced the spark plugs. But...
Ok where do I start? I bought my 2002 Lincoln ls v8 about 3 years ago. Eve since I bought it, there was always a problem with putting it into drive. It never caught gear until I give it gas. It will lurch forward, but after that there at no shifting problems. So I figure its a shift solenoid...
