I picked up the shop manuals on Ebay last night. I found one post where a guy dropped the trans at home, and he said you can lower one side of the sub frame and loosen the other like clam shell.

What did you do? It seems there is not a lot of info on removing this transmission out there. It looks like it may not be that bad.
