    1994 Mark viii idle issue

I had the 02s replaced at a shop a few months back because it looked way too PITA to do them. Is the vac line the one that connects to the throttle body?

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

I get CEL code 172. I’ll test the climate unit but when I listen to the engine it sounds as if there’s a leak coming from the intake manifold or rear end of manifold. But I’m not sure as it could just be the normal intake noise

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

Replacing the maf fixed the issue but the CEL still comes on after 5-15 mins of driving so there is also a vac leak somewhere

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

Unplugged the MAF and the car idles fine ~ 750 rpm in park. With the MAF plugged the car jumps between 500 and 650rpm in park idle. Doing a slight blip of WOT where the revs stay under 2k makes the idle return to 750 and stay there for a few mins before going down and jumping or if I go into...

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

Unhooking MAF will be the next step. I don’t have a smoker but that is also the next step if maf doesn’t seem to be the issue. As an update i did change the iac with a new replacement one. The car now starts without stalling the first time but the crank time is quite longggg. Also on cold...

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

Hmmm that is definitely a possibility but I’m not sure if it the secondary intake flaps because if I feather the throttle until 3k+ rpm then the issue persists. For some reason it’s only WOT that seems to fix the idle for a bit. I also didn’t have any issues prior to doing the “tune up”...

    1994 Mark viii idle issue

Hi everyone, I have an issue with my mark viii where the car idles very rough at 500rpm where the whole car sways side to side and has a loping idle that goes up and down ~50rpm. Also on the first start the car will rev up to 2k rpm and then stall, the second start it will struggle but will...

    1994 Mark Viii egr replacement

Hello everyone, Was wondering if there’s any way of removing the egr valve on a 94 mark viii without removing the tube? The manuals I have say to remove the lower 22mm tube nut and remove the egr valve and tube as a whole which I don’t really want to do and there seems to be an upper bit as...

Speaker static/no sound after headunit and speaker replacement.

I also put in new speakers. Did you have any issue with the sound starting to get too loud when not using the rcas from the head unit?

Speaker static/no sound after headunit and speaker replacement.

I heard that the bypass cables don’t work without tinkering and also the head unit wants the speakers wired individually and not in parallel (as it is in oem) so I would have to rewire at that point.

Speaker static/no sound after headunit and speaker replacement.

Also as an update if I remove the ends on the rca connectors and tap them with my fingers I can hear the passenger side rca cable taps clearly from the passenger speakers

Speaker static/no sound after headunit and speaker replacement.

Just to clarify all the power cables fit perfectly. So the power, ground, illumination and amp power etc. That’s with the 1x8 connector had no issues at all. I just ended up splicing the rca out cables from the head unit directly into the low level cables that occur in the 2x4 square connector.

Speaker static/no sound after headunit and speaker replacement.

94 mark viii with JBL +phone + cd changer Hi everyone, after having my stock headunit say "BAD" on it and not having it work, I replaced it with a newer single din and also replaced all the 6x8 speakers in the meantime and not touching the tweeters. The outcome is that I get no sound whatsoever...

    CRANK, NO START

While you’re in that area I’d also change the cam position sensor. It’s an easy job to do and they tend to go bad as well. If you can I’d also recommend to get a scanner for your car to get codes

    Help with Kenwood DVX997XR Nav

the gps unit on my other 12 year old car still hasn’t given me problems with not being able to find new addresses. If you do have to update any somewhat “modern” Microsd will have enough room. Normally you just have to download it and then plug it into your microsd slot and then pick the map...

    93/94 Stereo headunit replacement options

I was thinking of bypassing the amp just because I don’t want to fry it with a new headunit and also heard that using the stock amp can lead to the sound being super distorted. Hearing that yours has held up is a good sign though.

    93/94 Stereo headunit replacement options

Hi everyone, The stock JBL sound system on my 94 mark viii has lived it's last breath and my headunit now just says "bad" so it is the time for me to replace my setup. I know that the best thing would be to get a new stereo and run new wire to new speakers and have a decent system. My issue is...

Upgrading mark viii Gen 1 headlights

Luckily my housings aren't that bad and I think they'll last for another while before I refurbish them or buy a new pair. NoLimit do the bulbs fit the original get 1 housings without any modification to the housing? If they do ill snag them and the relay harness in the future and plug them in...

Upgrading mark viii Gen 1 headlights

Interesting on how it’s all disappointing based on the housing reflectors. From what I’ve read is that even today’s LEDs aren’t meant to work well with the “older” cars that used halogens in the first place just because of how the whole light emittence is engineered. That being said would it...

Upgrading mark viii Gen 1 headlights

Hi all I know that the headlight brightness of Gen 1 mark 8s are a known issue. With my new for me car I’ve been looking at options on actually being able to see the road at night. My car currently has some garbage yellow halogens. My lenses are ok and the chrome is not looking the best but...
