Where to find lock actuators?
Searching in threads said they are easy to find and cheap, though that thread was in 2005.
If anyone can let me know where to find door lock actuators (motors) one at RockAuto is close to $500 CAD. And window motors be greatly appreciated.
I checked the Tech...
Hi Everyone,
Has no one posted in this M7 forum since August 2023?
Our 91 LSC SE has been sitting for some time. The front brakes stop fine but are sticking quite a bit. Can't drive for more than 5 min. and smoke can be seen from the front driver's wheel (the one I replaced rubber brake hose...
One thing to watch is the temperature. Mine would not drop unless it was 45 degrees or lower. The colder the quicker the drop.
Raising the car with the switch off wouldn't cause the issue. Unless maybe that with raising the one of the bags got caught on debris and it damaged one of the bags...
Hey did you ever get this sorted? We have a 91 and it came with the JBL optional sound system, Ours came with a CD player. I removed it and installed a tape deck, so I could play cassettes and mp3's. Most stock decks from that time period work with the JBL system.
If you didn't get this sorted...
I added the first video a ffew backs but no one looked at it. I added the link for the second video. WOW does the replacement motor sound amazing.
see thread:
400 whp with turbo for $3945, including the price of buying the Lincoln Mark VIII !
They took apart of the motor. They said they knew of large amounts of oil leaking before the run. Why would they not investigate the leak first and fix the oil leak/s before taking the car to the track?
They also said he was running 17 lbs of boost with his first run. They knew better of that...
yep that is what happened to my M8 too. The car was sitting due to trying to find a ABS pump.
Once I get my fixed and cleaned up it will not be an issue. For those who's M8's have sat for a while and you have never done any maintenance to your telescopic wheel, I recommend you enter through...
With new front air struts, new rear bags and even the pump so inexpensive, I'm surprised anyone would consider removing the air ride. I think what isn't considered is that comparisons are being made form the new springs to the 20+ year old air parts. New air struts/bags make a significant...
Thanks! I thought I read on here some time ago, that if the lock spring breaks it lets the column travel to far inward and you have to replace that spring and that can be done with it in car?
Hi My tilt/telescopic wheel has always worked flawlessly. My M8 has been sitting for a bit as I source an ABS pump. now the tilt works fine but it doesn't move out. It seems like it went in too far as the signal switch is now tight against the dash. I found the following threads, I already tried...
Hey Base8,
I did that mod quite some time ago.
I found the post for you with wiring diagram!
Keep in mind I removed the double din radio and replaced it with a single din from a 1st gen. My M8 is a second gen, and I wanted space to add the ASHAM8 lowering suspension module, without cutting up...
At the end of video the guy found oil in front of the tree. So it was leaking oil before the run.
I think it was leaking oil from oil adaptor gasket. As many of us know these can leak small amounts and then large amounts shortly after the leak starts, even at idle speed.
Anyone interested? Tony was able to do it with ease, check the link below. Just fantastic! Video has been up for 3 weeks and has over a million views. So many expressing praise for these cars. Giddy Up!
I did it when I first picked up my M8 in 2013. I also did it for our 91 LSC SE. Search posts I've made.
All you have to do is cut a headphone wire or 1/8 to 1/8 headphone wire. Strip the cut wires and crimp small clips and install in the CD input. Red wire is the right channel. Sounds far...
You are amazing Xtriggerman!
I would much rather buy new/used than trying to fix mine. And thank you for the kind words, far more rust than dirt. That is two decades of good of Canada winter salt. Imagine if this car wasn't factory treated for rust corrosion. I even sprayed it twice with...
Thanks Xtriggerman! This is helpful!
I also spoke to another who said they used JB Weld. I'm wondering if there is a piston or something else inside the space or is it just a section to hold brake fluid for each brake line? I was thinking of getting a machine shop to make me a replacement...
