Ok so I had my gears installed went with 4.10 and well I am having issues. I finally got thru the break in and decided have fun with em. How ever the governor kicks in at 100 mph according to my speedo. Now I didn't replace the speedo gear for the trans is this the issue?

Hey guys I got my gears done on Friday. Went with 4.10 gears but haven't had the speedo gear replaced. Well today I finally got to get on it and the car acts like the govenor kicks in at 100mph on the speedo and 91 on my gps. Any ideas? My only thought is that the speedo gear is playing tricks...

well the locker i have is rebuilt out of a tbird supercoupe anyways so it was made for that rearend as well..... but someone one my youtube vid said they needed to get one for their mark.... but just checking....

I've heard 3.90s have problems but I'm a stock motor I'm sure ill still be in third crossing the trap with 4.10s it shifts into third about 200 ft before the trap now

Thanks I asked about the tune they said its not 100% necessary but I also manually shift anyways so I don't think that'll be to Mich of a problem

Getting gears done this weekend and looking to see if anyone has had gotten 3.73s and didn't like them and vise versa....stock engine and 3k stall no major upgrades after this..daily driven and don't care about gas mileage either recommendations plz...need to tell the shop wut gears to order

And with the trans and the torque converter best last night was a 9.57 with a 2.1 60'....

Yeah I understand... but gotta start somewhere.....and I learned the hard way....and my cooler is a small tube and fin cooler...runs through the radiator then out through the cooler....
