    p0352 Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

Yeah, my issue/story is actually in another thread... http://www.lincolnvscadillac.com/showthread.php?t=81604 But reading this thread actually makes me wonder about maybe it being something easier than a valve job. Ugh. Some of my injector connectors have broken clips, and the same goes for...

    Strange overheating issue

You may have cracks in the upper part of the bottle, where no fluid will leak out but air will get in. What happens is air gets into the pressurized system and the air heats up much faster and hotter than the water. The air bubble will float and form around the temp sensor, making the engine...

    p0352 Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit Malfunction

Can P0352 cause this? My engine sounds like it is backfiring in the intake. Happened while I was driving down the highway one day and now I cannot drive it because it is running so terribly and barely moves. Here is a video of it running: http://www.facebook.com/v/3398899125317 By the...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

BTW, you are all awesome! I haven't had the chance to get back into her yet, but plan on it in a day or so. (I have a major website job I need to get done that has priority over this right now.) Keep your dialog going! A lot of great suggestions here and this is an example of Forums in...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I still haven't given up on my baby yet... I have another compression tester and will be doing another more thorough compression test. I didn't warm her up before running the last test because I didn't want to risk any more unnecessary damage. But I see that it is recommended that you get...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

Nope, didn't drive it through water. Whether I drove it through water or through a brick wall, the valves are bad and require more money than what it is worth. I am going to put it up for sale and find a :q:q:q:qbox to get around in for now. Gonna miss her though...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

No, why? How would that affect the cylinder compression?

    little bit of a problem

Check your coolant bottle. It may have a crack in it, allowing air into the system and throwing the system into a panic, thinking it is overheating. A hot air bubble will sit around the sensor and then the engine thinks it is overheating so it goes into "limp home" mode and that is probably why...

Hello world and Timing Tensioner Issue Validation

Your rough idle and "knocking" sound is probably due to the timing chain tensioner giving the chain some slack and the chain must have jumped a tooth or two. You should replace the secondary chain as well since it may be stretched and will only cause issues again. I bough a tensioner (Jaguar...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I have come to the point of really thinking twice about dumping any more money into this car. I bought another compression tester and here are the results: Cylinder pressures: C1=180, C2=180, C3=180, C4=30, C5=95, C6=60, C7=160, C8=130. Anything under 157 is bad. So 4, 5, 6 and 8 are no...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

@Oddball - I used to own a '72 Cutlass Supreme as well! Loved that car! 350 Rocket, 4bbl, shift-kit, 3" exhaust. Traded my truck for it.

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

Bought an O2 Sensor and 8 plugs but those made no difference. I fired her up and still runs the same. Borrowing a compression tester from Autozone tomorrow. I will either confirm or eliminate the valves tomorrow...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I do have the Ford code extensions. That is how I was able to get the following codes as well: C1235 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing B1499 - Lamp Turn Signal Left Circuit Failure I know the Bluetooth may not be as fast as a more professional hard-wired unit, but I...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I think what I'm going to do first is put everything back together and then clear the current codes. I will swap the coils from both sides of the engine and see if the problem follows the coils. I would assume that if the cylinders 1, 3 and 4 coils were bad (according to the current OBD codes)...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

OK, I ran ScanXL Pro software and got the following codes: P0156 - 02 Circuit (Bank 2 Sensor 2) P0301 - Cylinder 1 Misfire P0303 - Cylinder 3 Misfire P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire P1000 - OBD Systems Readiness test Not Complete C1235 - Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Input Signal Missing B1499 -...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

Look up the specs on the software I specified and you'll see those are pretty robust programs that can not only give me basic codes but can also diagnose most codes, analyze 1/4 mile, 0-60, HP and torque ratings and much more. I can clear the CEL as well as load plugins for Ford vehicles to give...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I am going to put the valve covers back on tonight. I should be receiving this in the mail tomorrow: Amazon.com: BAFX Brand - ELM 327 Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool - For check engine light and other diagnostics - Android compatible: Car Electronics It is an OBD2 Bluetooth interface that can be used...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

Already checked that. One of the first things I checked since I had replaced the passenger-side secondary chain and tensioner over the summer and that's how I timed it. The timing chains are all nice and tight, the cams are fine and are lined up correctly, timing chain tensioners are all...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

I removed both valve covers and inspected the chains and tensioners as well as the cams and valve seats, and everything looks good and clean. Nothing is loose and nothing looks out of place or faulty. So I have no clue at this point what the hell it could be. Mass Airflow Sensor? Multiple...

Backfiring inside intake? No power, bogs down...out of timing?

That may be the case then, it was running very badly, but I was able to go at least about 40mph and up hills at times, so I have my fingers crossed that the pistons and valves didn't become too cozy from this happening and maybe the timing is just way out of whack... The only thing to do is see...
