Joe are there any hoses that connect to the rear of the valve cover on either side? My brother helped take it out but hasn't been back since and it's very hard to see back there.

My 02 Lincoln ls v8 was neglected by the previous owners and I've been fixing it up. I notice that if I drive half a mile the gauge will read it as a mile or more. The fuel pump, fuel pump relay and fuel filter have all been changed and still the same issue. Any help would be appreciated

I had the same experience when I first purchased my ls. It got worse during the fall and winter. I did everything everyone mentioned and it turned out to be the fuel pump relay located in the trunk by the battery. Cheap and quick fix. Good luck!
I've had the same exact issue. If your degas bottle (coolant reservoir) is extremely yellow and old looking I would advise changing it as I did. Some cracks may be hairline cracks that are very tough to see. Mine had multiple cracks underneath but I couldn't tell until I removed it. Good luck!
