    My second Mark VIII project

i can tell somebody has replaced the SRB’s before and they had the rear washers the wrong way. Everything is as it should be now with some new parts on top of the control arms. It handles just as smooth as I need it to. No more clunks, pulling, squealing, or harsh bumps. Replaced: Hubs...

    My second Mark VIII project

This car came with window tint, which was installed exceptionally well. I, however, can’t stand dark windows at night because I actually observe things when driving. Off it comes. No mess left behind. This is the only Mark VIII I’ve seen with these buggers still attached and I’ve seen...

    My second Mark VIII project

Well my first Mark VIII story can be found here in two threads: as a first time M8 owner and as it was hauled off after some jarkarse was texting and driving. (Libruhls) After driving to Oklahoma from Texas, I’m very happy with my new ride and already beginning to transform it.

Can I get my Camber back in range with new components?

Everybody seems to agree that when you run out of camber on a Panther, you have to widen the camber bolt hole. I know it’s a relatively easy job, but has anybody solved their camber issue by replacing a different component? Lower control arms, uppers, bushings ? I get the feeling there is a...

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

Amazing! I purchased the bushings/sleeve kit from Super Coupe Performance ($162.98) and after putting about 50 miles on them I’m as pleased as can be. I did replace all the control arms too, so I’m not sure how much the bushings contributed to the ride quality. The old driver ball joint can...

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

I was aware of not snugging the bolts until the car is down. The PO wasn’t and I ended up fixing his mistake... How easily (?) did the strut rod nuts break? Did you ‘have’ to use an impact?

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

They seem to be similar SKU’s to Moog. Are they under the same corp. or is one better than the other in some way? I was seriously sold on Moog complete lowers. Did you install all of this yourself? Difficulty?

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

How long have you had those installed? Are they rubber ?

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

These sources are looking way too premium. Has anybody had any luck with ANY of the aftermarket stuff? I had read that there was some changes to some product lines that improved the longevity. If Firestone is going to warranty the work, and they’re installing NAPA parts, is it worth it? Are...

LATEST news on strut rod bushings?

My SRB’s are squeaking and causing a slight pull. I plan to replace the LCA’s and SRB’s ASAP. I can already guess people are going to jump in with pasted replies or from old experiences but I did search before posting this and found nobody has RECENT news on SRB’s. Just as Hyundai is no longer...

    Car dies

It can’t be a fuel delivery problem because a greater volume is consumed at speed than when coasting down or making slow turns. It can’t be electrical because it is speed dependent. I’m a very OLD fashion mechanic (I started on 60’s Honda motorcycles). When speed becomes a factor in a problem...

    Car dies

Did you ever try unplugging the EGR valve and blocking off the hose that feeds it vacuum?

    Car dies

    Did that work out?

    Car dies

Easy test for EGR, unplug the vacuum line and plug it. It will throw a CEL if you sustain cruising speed for several different instances but for getting to work/home it should not indicate. If your engine doesn’t die when you come off the freeway, there you have it. I forgot to plug in my EGR...

    Car dies

If it is a fuel problem I would think it would bog significantly if you stick it in first gear and floor it. I’d do this test with a hot engine, so the electrical components are hot too.

    Just totaled my Mark VIII

After what they offered me I couldn’t give a flying cluck about the work I did. I had a LONG way to go with that car and some things could be avoided by finding a better candidate to start with. So I did. I posted the silver car above. I bought it. All of the external lights work, it’s been...

    Just totaled my Mark VIII

I'm actually glad the accident took this car from me, because I could now afford the car in the condition I really want! It sure is a thing of beauty! New thread coming soon.
