00 LS Shutting Off after being Cranked

I’m not hitting any switch. I put the key in and turn it on (not cracking it). You can here a clicking sound like something is opening. It happens for a few seconds then stops. I’m not switching anything on or off. When I say the power position I’ll talking about putting the key into the ignition, turning it so the car comes on but not cranking it, and hearing a switch or clicking when that happens.

So this was poor grammar? "I haven’t hit the switch yet. Wasn’t sure if I needed to since it was cranking and you can hear the switch when you turn it to the power position." It was reasonable to assume that you were talking about the same "switch" in both sentences.

So, where is this clicking sound actually coming from? (Note, the fuel pump relay is in the trunk.) The only clicking that I ever hear inside the car with the ignition turned on is from the climate control servos, and that is very faint.

Could be your HVAC or starter solenoid...can you isolate the noise by opening hood and having someone else listen to where it’s coming from while you turn the key to power?

Does the car start and run for a little while still? If it’s just cranking did you check the COP’s fuse in engine compartment fuse box or try switching out starter relay with another relay that is the same? I still think you can’t rule out your battery ...have you tried to charge your battery yet?

Surely you could have bought a $10 volt meter by now and measured the voltage during the few minutes that it does run. There is zero point to speculating about all this if no objective measurements or tests are going to be done.
