Well guys, here is another story of a LS overheating. I bought the car used in 05 with 44000 miles. About one year into owner ship it appeared to run hot so I took it too the local dealership. They replaced one of the fans and the problem was fixed? or was it? About 5 months later overheating again. This time they replaced the thermostat that lasted for about 3 days and then they said it was an air pocket. Well all has been ok untill about 4 weeks ago. Overheating again. This time I went to a friend at a local Firestone and he replaced the thermostat and it did not fix the problem. His guy said he did not have the necessary information to tell what the error codes were and I should take it to a dealer. They got my car at the dealer and said my #4 coil was causing the car to "think" it was overheating.I paid about $200 to find out my car was stupid. But if the coil need replacing.... Meanwhile the overheating problem is still there. They claim that they checked to see if there was another air pocket, if a head gasket was blown and if the fans were ok. All check out ok. So after all this I go to pickup my car and limp back to the house to find out that they had put on the order ticket. Must start with the thermostat, customer has declined. So did my service adviser lie to me that they checked all of the above or did they check these things and he was only saying do not replace anything until the thermostat is replaced. Any of you guys have any ideal what my next move should be?
