Ok, So I have and 02 LS. Just changed the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel relay and all the fuses related to the fuel pump. I had it running for about 30 or 40 minutes, when it just died. Now I can't get it started. There's no fuel in the fuel rail and nothing being pumped. The fuel pump is working b/c i can hear it. Anyone have any ideas?

someone (JOE) correct me, but you have a fuel pump, and a fuel sender. you need to make sure both are working... I had a similar issue that resulted in a bad electrical connection to the fuel pump....

There are two fuel level senders, one in the electric fuel pump module, and the other in the jet fuel pump module. They are only concerned with fuel level indication.

If you can truly hear the electric fuel pump run, but there's no fuel at the rail, there are limited possibilities. (I am also assuming that there are no major fuel leaks.)

1. Your gas tank is dry, or nearly so.
2. Your new fuel pump's motor runs, but it isn't pumping fuel.
3. Your jet module is clogged or failed.
4. Your fuel filter is clogged.

I would think that #2 is most likely, assuming that you really do hear it running and that you only messed with the electric fuel pump. I'd pull it back out and see if anything is wrong about it.

+1 Joegr

Those little pump motors are plenty powerful. Make sure all the filters around the pump are not plugged or the hoses came off after driving a while.

I just took it out and redid everything and still nothing. I can hear the pump working, but I'm going to check the fuel lines again.

then you need to start testing the lines... run the pump not connected and see if it pumps, then try at the filter, then the rail... Just because you "hear" something, doesn't mean its working

Totally talking out of my @ss here, but is there something you need to do to prime a completely dry pump?

Nope, they're self priming, assuming that there is a reasonable amount of gasoline in the tank.

I had the car running for about 30 or 40 minutes after I changed everything.

New part does NOT mean good. Like mentioned I would put hose on hat output and run out of car (do all safely) and check for flow into a bucket.

SO I figured it out. It was a hose that broke on the jet pump. Replaced that and it started right up. Thanks for you help and suggestions.
