02 LSV8 New coils. Wont start unless switch coils around

Have you pulled the starter relay and examined it's condition at all, cracked possibly, doesn't like the cold, maybe corrosion on contacts. try reseating it.

Now the dam thing won't start at all. Turns all day but drains the battery pretty quick. I have yet to touch the starter relay so I will give that a shot. Thanks for that idea

It's not going to be the starter relay if the stater is engaging...
Perhaps your fuel pump has failed?

I told my girlfriend last winter that this car HATES the cold. The negative temps are what lead to my Advancetrak lite to come on and its been flashing ever since. Now, its because the fuel line right after that FI damper is frozen solid.

Perhaps you have too much water in your gas tank?

oh yeah. Aside from our gas station here in town that has questionable gas at times. The tube was solid. I used some clear tubing to see whats going on and the fuel does proceed into the line but stops shortly after. When I took the clear tube back off and the fuel jetted out from pressure. So this leads me to believe the section after this clear line is frozen also. fuel tube.jpg

Checked list:
Fuel Pressure (fuse and pump)
Battery
Security
Tire pressure
Old & new coils (put old back in the passenger side)
Starter relay...

So I took an old plug/coil and connected the #2 connector to it. Had the engine turn and I didnt see any spark. Not sure if you should see a spark from the eye view but that has me guessing the wire harness for the passenger side.

Anyone have a picture via manual of where this all leads to? This way I can get an idea of how difficult it is to replace

It all goes to the PCM, on the firewall, passenger side, behind the glove box.

How about the crank sensor? Is it pulsing when the starter is engaged?

That was the first thing I changed out back in December. The engine started up fine after but still had "spuddering" issues. The 2nd shop changed that out and said "it was over the required voltage" (even tho I told them it was brand new). I still need to go back and get it. So that is back on the list.

I have no tools to check if the crank sensor is doing anything :\

Looking to trade in for a 2000 Cadillac Deville. Hope those are not as problematic as lincolns are

"not problematic" and "northstar" probably shouldn't be used together in any sentance

End result of these issues (at this time) and for everything CEL wise was solved by New Coils/Plugs and a Crack Sensor(NOT CAM for anyone else viewing).

I replaced the Crank sensor that I told the shop to avoid being it was brand new. They changed it out anyways and now I have the original 145k mile sensor back in and its been fine since. If I have another starting issue with the same symptoms as before, its back the the new sensor I bought and changed out before the shop visit. (3 sensors the original, The New one from auto zone and the shops replacement)

I ask the shop about replacing the DCCV/Heater control and the guy said they would need to remove the whole dash to get to it... "Well I have warm air coming from the passenger side but nothing for the driver side" and he replied "Yes we would have to remove the dash for that"
So i've learned not to believe the hype of local mechanic shops :bsflag:
