03 and up headlights on 00-02 LSs??

I was thinking of getting new headlights as the ones on my car are starting to look a little bit tired, but I don't know if I should get the same ones or the 03 and up headlights. I know they are not direct fit, but I have seen a 2000 LS on Cardomain with 2003 headlights. Is it hard to put them on? Any ideas?

no othey are not.

there is an old post here from someone that did this -he is a member of the LLSOC and worked through all the issues.

the top support brace must be replaced with the headlights. then the bumper cover is not a 'perfect' match in that there are little gaps between the headlight and bumper - so swaping the bumpers help

so his 2000 now looks like an 2005 - he did a great job.

There's been a lot of posts about this topic. Quik, you were correct about the support brace, but the gap issue is only if you were going to put the 2003 and up LSE bumper on the car with the pre-03 headlights still on the car. That was the issue that Alan had. I've installed the 03 HIDs on my car and they look awesome and there is no gap.

I guess I'll post pictures again, even though I've posted these about 5 times already.

HyeLife, the headlights are not a direct fit. You need to buy the 2003 headlight mount bracket which costs about $150 or more. I'll try to find the part number for you if I can.
Basically, you have to remove your front bumper and headlights, then the new bracket will install very easily. After that all you have to do is screw the headlights in and do some electrical work.

I'd get the same ones, since the clear corners look really good on your car. The newer headlights would clash.

If you decided to get the 03 and up headlights for your car I have the 2003 and up headlight brace that goes behind the front bumper. I'd let it go for $135 shipped. You'll need it to convert the headlights.

Thanks Ken, but I think I'll keep the 00-02 lights so I can still have clear corners.
