03 Lincoln LS 20 Engine Codes!!!!

Good morning guys, Well i bought an 03 Lincoln LS that i got a great deal on and fell in love with the interior and look of the car. Only bad thing is it threw a Throttle body and 02 Sensor code (what the guy told me). Well i drove it home on limp home mode (5 miles away) and went ahead and bought a throttle body from an 05 F-150 for it. Well it actually accelerates now but still has hesitation. I took it to Autozone and they pulled over 20 codes it was throwing. Knowing one thing can possibly set things off i am looking at replacing the Ignition coils as it looks they replaced the originals with some from a junk yard (yellow marking all over them).

Will these fit my LS? Sorry it is a 3.0 V6

Yes, they will fit.
I can't comment on the codes if you don't post them.
You might not have needed the throttle body. It's usually bad coils that cause the throttle body codes and ETC failsafe.
 
Thank you, guy at autozone seemed too lay to print them out for me so he wrote them on a piece of paper

You need to work on your counting, that's ten not twenty.
BTW, those are zeros in the codes, not the letter "O"

P0113 - Intake air temp circuit high. (IAT is part of the MAF sensor.)
P0353 - number three coil or circuit bad electrically. (#3 is the one most likely to cause false ECT codes when it starts to fail.)
P1000 - The battery was recently disconnected, you may have other faults that aren't detected yet.
P2100 - ETC code, could be real or could be caused by noise from a bad coil.
P2104 - caused by the P2100.
P2107 - ECT code, could be real or could be caused by noise from a bad coil.
P2110 - caused by P2100.
P2111 - ECT code, could be real or could be caused by noise from a bad coil.
P2112 - ECT code, could be real or could be caused by noise from a bad coil.
(Getting both 2111 and 2112 makes it more likely it is coil noise.)
P2198 - Bank 2 is very rich or bank2 O2 sensor 1 is bad or wiring is bad.
 
Thanks, he had 20 come up and that is all he wrote down for me. Once again thanks for the help i went ahead and just ordered that set of coils. I will see how well it does after i change those things out and the O2 Sensor. I appreciate the help.
 
The throttle body code was most likely coils. Happened to me several times.

Why did you buy a throttle body from an 05 F150? I believe a member did this for performance reasons???
 
i bought it from LKQ they showed it to be the same thing.

I thought that for was for the V8 (not V6), and required some modification. I may be remembering wrong.
 
personally, i would replace the coils and plugs and throw the old TB back on it.
 
If the battery died, it will sometimes cause lots of codes to pop up. Make sure the battery is good and the charging system is up to snuff.
 
So the coils came in the mail yesterday (pretty darn quick) i am about to go tackle this job and was on Mitchell and i guess i suck at looking through online Catalogs but is it true i have to remove the upper intake manifold to access #'s 1,2,3? Any tips or pointers would be appreciated and i have searched on here but the majority of the write ups are so old and non existent broken links to other sites. Thanks for the help guys i hope to have this cart up and running soon.

Yes. Sorry, I thought this was well known for the V6. You should also replace the PCV valve and plumbing while you are in there. It's a known issue with the V6. The intake gasket can be reused, but you may want to get a new one just in case.
Also, it is very very important that you change the spark plugs at the same time. Verify that the pre-gap'd plugs are at set to 1.0 mm gap.
 
Thanks Joe, i will tackle this project this weekend, Didn't realize the manifold would have to come off so i will have to give myself a bit more time to work on it as it is at my sisters house. Will post up results after all is said and done.

Just take your time and remember where everything goes. My best time start to finish was ~3 hours. That was for the entire job.
 
So.is gap at 1.0mm? The plugs are already set at that but everywhere I read it shows to be at .054? Thanks guys I'm ready to drop these in

Sorry, 1mm is for the V8. The V6 gap is a little larger.
 
well i ended up gaping them at 1.0 mm since that's how they were when they came out. Car runs like a champ now.
