03 LS V8 vs RSX Type-S

freind has an rsx type s with CAI and exhaust, its a manual. i have an 03 ls v8 with kkm intake? do i have any chance agaisnt him? rolling start i know i cant since he can just dump the clutch on me but from a dig do i stand a chance? any tips too would help like should i take advanctrac off or use the selectshifter or leave it in auto and just jam it? thanks (so far ive taken an 03 tl, an 06 galant, a 98 stang gt vert) i would love to add this jap car to my list too since hes talking some serious doo doo. i'd love to just use my V series to take him but thats not even a challenge.

thats actually the exact phones i have in my house, and they are pretty powerful. the tl i raced had v tec too though, and that car is bit more powerful than an rsx type s. i had it by almost 3 lengths by the time i hit 60mph, this was pre intake on my car
 
I raced a type - S in my mark and left him like he was standing still. So you should have no problems
 
i think vtech is overrated, unless you tune your engine way up, eh ive driven a few cars with it and it does nothing for me, its a gimmick to me
 
Yea, VTEC Doesnt really do any good until the higher RPMS, pretty much close to Red line. G/F owns an Acura TSX.. VTEC Doesnt do anything crazy..
 
i've rode in a friends prelude, fairly new atleast it seems nice on the inside and looks good, with v-tech. hes got cai exhaust and a tune/chip whatever those imports call it. anyways the v-tech seems to "go off" at a certain rpm because when he would get on it it would hit like 3500 rpms and the sound from the exhaust would change completely and would sound good too me and it would really get down. so idk..
 
soundslike the chip acts as a vtech controller or modded it in some way......so far i have one person saying i can take him, this isnt sounding too good for me haha

Who cares?? Does it really matter, honestly.

Just enjoy your car, and stop racing people. You probably race on the street too...thanks for putting my family and I in danger.

+1 vtec dont kick in till later in the rpm's, and it actually can be heard most in the intake. Its not a chip its one of the vtec controlers, probably apex'i.
 
shame on me for saying it, but i like the 99+ honda preludes with the v-tech motors in them after riding in his countless times. that thing really gets down.
and glanga, i know the rsx type s can get down too but the ls also can so i say you race him and find out. although i am against racing the ls but to each his own.
 
just throw a v-tec type s emblem on your fender and maybe he will back down lol. dont let v-tec scare ya. some are fast some are slow take a chance but be safe. a friend of mine had a 94 civic v-tec and i beat him with my 98 escort zx2. and thats the truth. for a honda it was a bone.
 
I still get a kick when I hear a V-tec boy boast about the greatest invention Honda ever came up with, hif V-tec. What people don't know is that Bugatti used a similar setup to the V-tec in their locomotives... In the early part of the 19th century.
 
i had an 88 acura integra non v-tec and it was quick....i stayed with a 94 integra off the line....still isnt faster than a 03 ls V8.
 
I beat a 99 vtec Integra's ass "with" my coil issue, talking about beeing all JDM and crap. Yeah ok ,so what? And those RSX's arent that much better just watch its gears then you should win. Around here tho there is this one with a turbo kit and he is quick and very fast, sorry to say that.
 
It depends on if he is a good driver. If he misses a gear you will smoke him. If he doesn't it will be a good race
 
I dont know about a type s tho, they red line high and are 6 speed. Even if he does miss he can still hang if not win.
