'04 ls still stalling!!!

My brother-in-law had some coils replaced right before we purchased the LS that had shown up on a "code" when he went to get it checked out. Other than a few of the minor suggestions that have been posted by everyone on my two threads concerning this issue, we have replaced all of the other, mentioned parts with no change in the stalling issue...it has been very frustrating to say the least...even when seasoned Ford mechanics cannot diagnose it correctly. The recent "timing CHAIN" replacement was a HUGE waste of time and money...but...everything is cleaned up bright and shiny, and the car has another new part to add to the others. :Bang

Once again, we thank everyone for their input. :)

I forgot.... Did you clean/replace the MAF??? V6? Has the PCV valve/elbow been replaced?

I go to Jacksonville and Amelia Island with my wife about once every 2 months. If you want,I'll stop by and run the codes and look it over for you . Your husband may just need to let another ear and eyes hear the problem. I've run my V6 for about 60K now totaling 138K miles. Just offering to help. We might not fix it or we MIGHT. It is very hard for these guys to sit here and diagnose something they can't hear or see. don-ohio :)^)

Thank you for the offer.

Sorry to be the necromancer, but there was a disagreement as to the cause of stalling at idle. I wanted to share my recent experience.
200 Lincoln LS V8 160k miles. Was running ok, no transmission problems except for a 'turbine' whine when cold that was related to the transmission. I read on here to replace the trans. filter which I did 4 days ago at a shop who also drained the pan and added 5-6 qts of trans fluid back in. Now, in the last couple days it occasionally hesitates when trying to go from a stop, there is a clear failure to engage the transmission. You can feel it sit for a couple seconds, then grab and go.

Sometimes, when coming to a stop, the engine dies. Both these symptoms were described as possibly being caused by too low transmission fluid level.
They also said it was 2-3 qts low and there was a sign of a leak. However it hasn't been visibly leaking on the ground. So I doubt it lost enough to cause the problem in two days.

I'm going to bring it to the dealer to check the level.
The idle speed is about 600-700 normally.

It's strange that it would start this after they chaged the filte rand fluid. They said they only got 2 1/2 qts out of it when they dropped the pan, indicating it was already low a couple quarts, yet didn't have any shifting or stalling problems then.

Was your issue resolved after the dealer visit and level check?

My 02 LS was doing the same thing. My problem appears to have been resolved after another transmission fluid flush. I only have about 300 miles since the service but it appears to have resolved all the driveability issues.

Don't know how I screwed up the quote, only the first paragraph was the quote.

Would like to know if the issue was resolved.
