My friend down in florida knows im in the market for an ls so he sent me a newspaper ad from his local lincon/mercury dealer that offered a 05 v6 ls for $19,888 with no catch. I immediately thought it was too good to be true so I called and its true! Of course the dealer gets all the rebates and incentives, one of the rebates is a lincoln loyalty one which i do not apply for thats $2000 and another rebate is a $500 college grad rebate which i also do not apply for so basicly if I wanted one id have to pay $22,388 which is still an amazing price for a 33 grand car. The only two problems are that i live all the way in mass and the other is my budget is 20k and i wont have the money until july so i guess i have to wait for another deal like that to roll around in the summer or see if the lincoln dealers around my way will match that price when im ready to buy one. If i cant get a price like that for a new ls im just gonna get a used 03 or 04, great deal though huh?

btw when do the 06 lincolns come out maybe i can get a deal on a new 05 when they try to make room for the 06's......one more ? when do you think the ls will get a complete redesign 2007?

Wow, do you have a scan of that newspaper anywhere?

I thought I read that the LS will get antoher redesign in 2006, and possibly an up-engined version in 2007.

On motortrend's future vehicle forecast, "2008 Lincoln LS : Redesigned on FWD/AWD platform used by the Ford Five Hundred."

Isn't there also a rumor about the LS possibly using the DEW platform, which I'm assuming is different from the 500?

I think they are going to kill the LS in 06
It's slated to be built through the end of 2007. It's rumored that the LS will be replaced with another vehicle in 2008.

Also, the 2006 LS will only be available in the LSE trim package and V8 only. There will not be any V6 LSE's built in 2006. Colors have yet to be determined. So, if you want a new regular LS you better buy a 2005 before they are all gone.

The DEW98 is the current platform for the Jag and LS and the Thunderbird. It was jointly developed by Jag and Ford.

The 500 platform I think the sales guy told me is based upon the Volvo. I thought the 500 was rather dull but might be interesting with a better engine and a swoopier body.

you can get that deal at any dealership in the country as long as all the same rebates are available. dealers all have the same cost for the vehicle no matter where they are. some dealers just get more holdback from the manufacturer if there are a big volume seller.

What exactly are all the rebates?

the only rebates lincoln's website is showing is 3000 and 1500 for financing through FMCC. there is probably always 500 for college grads but I don't see anything listed about owner loyalty.
