06 ls deal

Also would be outta warranty in 2,000 miles, could be incorrect tho..

It ran out of warranty some time ago.

Bumper to bumper was 50K miles.
Extended factory warranty (if it was sold in 2007) was 75K miles.
Coil warranty does not apply to 2006.

The headliner looks a little saggy at the front. Drive it and make sure there isn't a high pitched tone between 2500 & 3000 rpm. If there is you're stuck with it. I've been looking for a solution for almost a year! The seats need a good cleaning and conditioning.

KBB says trade-in values.....

Condition Value

Excellent
$9,250

Good
$8,525

Fair
$7,300

You can try that if you want, but those aren't the figures that apply. The correct figures are the "private party sale" figures. Those are usually higher.

I had that "high pitched tone" checked out when I first bought my 06. I was told by two different dealers that it is the Advancetrac cycling through it's start-up. Basically a systems check for the Advancetrac. It annoyed me until I found that out.

I have a copy of the service bulletin and posted it here somewhere. If you read the bulletin it appears to only do the check once you hit 2500rpm. I have made a game of it and go days without hitting the offending rpm. Does that mean the AdvanceTrac isn't doing it's self-check? Does that mean it won't engage?

It is still annoying that they can't fix it! It seems to me they don't care enough about an orphan car (or their owners, by extension) to put in the effort to fix it!! This, as well as their lack of acceptable product, will make me think twice about purchasing another Lincoln!

That was just for reference as to what the dealer paid for the car.

The AdvancTrac will still work even if it doesn't do the self test.

Lincoln only makes one RWD car now, the Towncar. That locks me out of buying any new Lincoln. I guess I'll look at Jaguar and BMW next time.
It seems like Lincoln wants to be the new Mercury anyway.

Sorry, I didn't read the ad, so I didn't realize this was being sold by a dealer. I usually figure that a dealer expects to get 1K to 2K more than the paid for it as a minimum. It's somewhat dependent on how long they had it. If it's just a few days, then 1K may be enough. If it's been several months, then they may settle for 1K. In between, they want more. If the OP is really interested, they should wait to close to the end of the month to make an offer.

I was being facetious ;)

I couldn't agree more! Lincoln fell from my list when they decided Buick was their main competitor!
