i got a mark 8 its got 120k miles on it what problems should i expect. i know probly will have to get a new fuel pump but what outer problems should i expect. in advance thanks for the info

120k?

Look into flushing the tranny fluid, filter, switch to mercon v, 1-2 accumulator springs, jmod maybe tranny cooler etc etc etc

Upper and Lower control arms, sway bar end links, new bushings all around etc

Hows the air ride holding up?

Fuel, air and oil filter w/ new oil

Spark plug wires (max from five star ford) and new spark plugs

Maybe flush the coolant out

Remove intake resonators and the such.

Gen 1 (93-96) or Gen 2 (97-98) ?

That should be a start. Get it up to snuff mechanically before you start with the mods.

Hope this helps, you can search for all the things I listed, also check out the tech articles section.

Cruise control recall if not done already - very important!

Nows the time to start planning your first round of maintenance.
While the drivetrain on the car is great, the peripheral things all unavoidably wear out.

So, within the next 30k you'll probably end up replacing your suspension components (bushings, tie rods, control arms, and air springs).
Fuel pump.
And you might end up needing to replace the radiator, where the aluminum fins are pressed into the plastic tanks can develop leaks.

So while you're not going to get hit replacing expensive timing belts or rebuilding the engine, you'll have other "maintenance" parts that will wear out.

Oh and one important thing... 120,000 miles is almost broke in...

I have many more miles than that on all of my Mark VIIIs and they all run great still...

I have enough miles to go to the moon and back... and they could handle the trip LOL..

Take care of her and she'll be with you a long time.

1995 and i dont know its sitting in my dads yard. i get it in
6 months(when i turn 16) trying to find out how much its
going to fix it up. i wanted to get a projected cost
so when i start driveing it and see if the suspensions still good
i will ask again

If its been sitting you can get a good idea if the airbags are leaky... does it sink all the way to the ground or is it sitting up as it should?

The bags can dryrot. I got lucky, my car sat for 2 1/2 years and after driving it for a year the rear goes down sometimes on humid days.

Depending on what's wrong will tell you the cost, and how must do yo want to spend?

If you don't have to pay for the car and have a good $1000 to drop in to it. You could get it running good..

i got nutin right now but by the time i get the car i will probly have at least a grand me and my dad are gunna put in the new battery and see how it runs this weekend

I think Royal Purple is really good thats all I use. It costs a lil more but is worth it.
