I am considering buying a LS V8 Sport, and have been looking at cars on this site. I like 'OhioLS' car with the 18's on it...does anyone know if this car is lowered or stock suspension? I found the tire size.

Also, I may look at 20's for it....what is the recommended tire size? I found some nice ones on this site http://www.20inches.org/cars/cars-linc.htm but it gives no info on tires or suspension. I am hoping I do not have to lower it and have it still look good. I am hoping to get this look, so info on tire size, offsets and suspension set up would really help.

I have NO experience with these cars...only BMW & Merc so this is new to me.

thanks

i have Wanli 245/35/20's on NS Racing Vegas 20" rims, here's a shot:

the suspension is still stock and the only issue i have is rubbing on the passenger side rear tire on tight turns and bumps, amplified with more than two people in the car of course... otherwise drives great.

the car picture u have looks like an LS on 20 inch dub rims.. or TIS.. same company.. anyways.. doesnt look dropped.. when its dropped it tucks the back more than the front usually and u can tell..

Just my opinion, but 20s are too much wheel for the LS. Looks odd to me, but I know ... "one man's trash is another man's treasure." :)

they had about 5 cadillac cars on 28's at the last car show here.. and about 4 monte carlos on 27's... kinda sux

so maybe i should stick with 18's since tires up here (Canada) are more $$ and I have some :q:q:q:qty roads.....is this car lowered? I like this look as well.

isnt that ohioLS car? i beleive he did drop it on eibach springs.. not 100 percent sure though. i know he bought the wheels at lskoncepts.com though

OhioLS (Scott) does have an Eibach 1 inch drop. I think his 18's look perfect compared to the size of the car, although in some occasions 20's look good too. I'd go with the 18's though.

Looks like 18" 45s maybe. By way of reference, mine has 235/50 R17 and a 1" drop (Eibach Pro-kit springs). A 235/45 R18 will have an overall diameter almost exactly the same, but with a lower-profile tire offsetting the larger-diameter wheel.

looks sick sloban! i actually like that spoiler, never thought i'd say that. as for tires i think both 18s and 20s look great on the LS. anything less, you lose that aggressive edge, and looks more like a honda at that point (ok... flame away... hehe)

i am trying to keep STOCK suspension....and get a decent look with 18 or 20's (thats why i asked about ohioLS)

since i like steagle's with 245/35/20's....
what are the best tire combos for 18's then?

By "best" do you mean your goal is to fill the wheel well or minimize speedometer error? The 235/45 R18 will be the minimum speedometer error on 18s, while 50 series or larger profiles will fill the wheel well more.

the best of both worlds...

STOCK:
215/60/16 = 26.15 overall diameter

PLUS SIZES:
245/40/18 = 25.71 overall diameter
235/45/18 = 26.32 overall diameter
245/50/18 = 27.64 overall diameter (speedo out 5% slow)
245/35/20 = 26.75 overall diameter

I guess you are right the 235/45/18 combo looks best would the 50 series be to big/rub ?? What about this combo...or is it to wide for the LS??

245/45/18 = 26.68 overall diamter

hey guys i was just wondering why doesnt any one have 19" rims and tires on their LS you get the BIG look that the 20" rims offer but with no RUBBING and also you stay in the PLUS 2 size going from the 17" oem - does anyone have the tiresize combination for the 19"

If you're starting from 235/50 R17, then 235/40 R19 is the closest, I think. Calculator says about half a percent bigger (speedo too slow). There's a plus size calculator at http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp

You know, I was under the impression that 19" wheels and tires cost a lot more than the even sizes, but I just did some quick research and that's not true. There is a lot less to choose from, but if you can find wheels and tires that you like, the price is between that of the 18s and 20s.

So, why DON'T more of us run 19s?

my thoughts exactly most of us cant tell the difference between 19 and 20 unless they go up to it and look at it and the 19 ones wont rub " I think"..

I personally like 20s but if you want to save yourself the headache of avoiding all of the bumps and loading your car with passengers then go with 18s with 245/40/18 tires. Or put some 19s with 245/35/19s if you want them to be a little bigger.

What about 19" rims in the rear and 18" in the front? Or even 18" in the rear and 17" in the front? Personally I think this would look sick, but how do you guys think it would ride?

I wonder what the AdvanceTrak would make of that?

running off sizes you'd have to get the diameters matched up (which would require higher profile tires in the front AND defeat the purpose) or advancetrac and more importantly ABS would flip out.

I have 19 x 8.5 on the front and then 19x9.5 on the rears with general tires 245/35/19 and i think it rides like a charm
