Considering that they only supposedly came in black or white. I know this is 100% false. This cars paint code is 11. Platinum, according to the local paint store. Does anyone know how many of these were made?

Can't be very many. I have never seen one in platinum. I have always seen them in black or white. I have seen a couple in red and one in charcoal. But I have never seen platinum. Must be a rare color.

Welcome back.
Is this a car that you own or are considering buying or what?

Also, exterior color code 11 = Light Titanium Pearl Metallic and would be unique as a GTC. Send a pm to LAND YAUGHT. He's he GTC owner here.

GTCs might have been available in silver, as they are depicted in brochures, but other literature points to black and white cars only.

i have a 88 GTC Mark VII and its black ive never seen one in any other color than that or white in my searching's wasn't that much into theses cars as much as i was into vw's because i owned one but now that i have one im getting into it more and more :L

Maybe you found the "LOST TITANIUM" GTC many times "ONE-OF'S" ARE A COLOR THEY DECIDED AGAINST, MOST LIKELY BECAUSE MATCHING THAT COLOR IS A b*tch when painting ABS plastic and therefore they decided against any further in that color, but unlike the a manufacturer they can hardly afford to crush is or send to a grave yard, so it becomes the illusive titanium GTC's that only a few know for sure was actually manufactured, or it could be just a "clone"; either way if the price is right, and you like it, a titanium GTC should be pretty sharp. Post Pics!!!
