I am looking for the amplifier in a 1998 Town Car. The Radio has CD control buttons and I have a 98 Ford CD changer. I can not locate the amplifier to plug the changer into. Everyone tells me its in the trunk, I don't think so.
Any help!!!!!!

Thanks :Bang

it should be behind the spare mounted to the back of the rear seat

I think its prewired. mine is on the left side were the airsuspension botton is.

I have now determined that the radio is a Audiophile electronic Stereo radio with CD DJ compatibility. I still can not locate the connection point.
Any other ideas??????

I don't know if this will help but this what I got.

I have a 98 with a radio from a 2000 with the cddj function. The only amp on a towncar is the one with the sub-woofer in the 1 piece shell if you have it. Continentals have the plug in the trunk. My towncar is prewired for the subwoofer by the plug thats run. The changer plug is larger as well as it plugs into the back of the radio. If i remenber right the cable for the changer has something plug into it and it then plugs into the radio. I have an alpine chnager with blitzsafe interface. So i may be thinking of that but I do know the changer doesn't plug in in the trunk. Older towncars pre 98 could have an amp and a sub w/amp. Possibly the new style after the 98-02 or 04 does again but I've neaver seen that style radio with a seperate 4 channel amp, just a sub/amp.
