Hey guys, I recently purchased a used Lincoln ls with 150,000 miles from a private owner who told me that the car was in excellent condition, I could not test drive it because it did not have a battery, I took his word for it. I put a new battery in it and drove to town to where it overheated and shut off, I replaced the hydraulic fan solenoid it now maintains proper engine temps. The car was also misfiring on cylinder 1 I replaced all three plugs and coil packs under the intake manifold, the pcv hose was cracked and leaking I replaced that. The vehicle stills stalls while driving it happens without notice no hesitation no stuttering the engine shuts off and I coast to a stop, the car will not turn over it has started again after several hours of sitting it idles fine but every time I drive it it stalls out and I have to get towed home! Please help if you know what this is or have experienced this. Thank you

...I replaced all three plugs and coil packs under the intake manifold...

You do know that it is a six cylinder, right? All would be all six plugs and coils. They are COPs (Coil On Plug), not coils packs. If they had been coil packs, then one would have been the total.

Who would buy a car (unless it was $500) without driving it, and if it was $500, who would believe it was in excellent condition?

I suspect you have a lot of issues to discover and fix.

Thank you for your reply, I was able to figure out what was happening! I have a faulty jet pump so even tho my gas guage was at just under half a tank I ran out of gas, the jet pump fills the side of the tank that has the fuel pump because of the saddle bag design of the tank a jet pump is necessary. After I used the 5 gallon gas tank to fill the car up it is running great for now just gotta keep it full of gas! : )
