2000 Lincoln ls v8

we cant stress this enough. GET THE OEM. I had to go through 3 doormans before I just got the OEM all in 1 years time. also did you needed to replace the altenator or was it a bad connection somewhere.

It was a bad connection on the alternator, also it didnt help my belt was going bad and loose which caused it to slip. I bought the oem degas bottle, and a new belt. In one of my previous posts I was saying the previous owner has rerouted the belt around the hydraulic fan pully, I took the old belt off and forgot to write down how it was ran. Can anyone tell me how torun this belt? Im kinda lost here.

The far left pully is missing for the hydraulic fan motor. He had it rerouted with a shorter belt. I got the part number off the belt and got a new one but have tried everything to put it on. Im so stumped

I've seen a lot of people do this on different cars to bypass the A/C compressor. You could always measure the old belt or measure the length by going pulley to pulley using string or painters tape and go to NAPA. They are usually able to match up the size and length.

well i fixed it. i got the 80 inch belt to fit without the hydraulic fan pully, and fixed the degas bottle problem. just wanted to thank everyone for all the much needed help.

Ok so I gpt ot.running good now. Thanks everyone for all the help. I have a question, my check transmission light keeps coming on and it says E where its supposed to say D when in drive. Does anyome know what that means? And will an automatic out of a 2000 ls v6 fit a 2000 ls v8? Are they the same transmissions? Thanks for ypur time.

Yes (sort of) - Transmission fault - solenoid assembly - valve body - internal fault - external electrical. Get the codes read and go from there.
No.

Ok so I parked my car while ago to go eat, went out and started it and it wont go in gear. Its like it is in neutral. Wont move at all. Does anyone have any advice?

Extreme fault or very low transmission fluid level.

Stay tuned Folks as next week we dive into solving a misfire by means of replacing all coils & plugs.
The week thereafter we are going to address the warm air out of passenger side vents.
