I just changed both valve cover gaskets and removed the little bit of oil that was in the wells. My car still has a miss after the engine is warm.the car is fine until it warms up.There is not a check engine light on.The codes have been checked and there was a miss detected in number 8.The car also runs fine even hot if the cruise control is on.The other problem i see is when the car is in park i can not rev the engine over 3000 rpm.Is there a rev limiter? Can someone please help me with this problem.

yes - there is a rev limiter in Park or Neutral at 3,000rpm

did you replace the spark plugs and coils?

I did not change anything.I was told to put dilectric grease on the boots.I will try that saturday. The car runs great untill it gets warm then the miss starts. What should i do next?

if it was me....

swap the plugs and coils.

The miss-fire reading can be misleading and not always report the proper coil - for the price of a set of plugs and coils - swap them and be done with it. Too many times you hear a dealership replacing one coil then three weeks later another, then 4 months later two more.....

The valve cover gaskets where the tough job - the plugs and coils are easy.
