Hi,

I replaced the idle air control valve on my Lincoln LS and it's acting weird. Does anyone know the relearn procedure?

Thank you

I remember seeing something posted about it years ago, but it was something insane with like 30 steps accelerating and stopping.

Fwiw, I replaced mine (turned out my positive wiring was bad so ran a new wire) and did no “relearning”. Ran fine right away.

Chances are you have another issue. What made you think it’s the IACV?

I never replaced the IACV on my 06 LS but on some of my other vehicles i just replaced it and drove it normally. Never had a problem. Also not every new part is a good part. Some can be faulty. You can check the IACV by taking a screwdriver and pushing on the spring to see if it opens and closes. It should have some tension but If it doesn't open and close then its bad. Did you use a gasket? What made you think the IACV was bad?

First things first?
Do you have any codes?
As posted above it needs nothing but installation so you may have additional problems you aren't aware of.
