2005 LS V8 Advancetrac light

I have a question about the advancetrac warning light
I took my car to a local shop and they said that it needed to be calibrated. They weren't sure how to do it and suggested the dealership.
Is this correct or should I be going elsewhere?

They are correct..... UNLESS an indie has the very expensive proprietary equipment.

well for starters, anytime you hear "we're not really sure how to do it..." that is your first clue that it needs to be taken somewhere else. honestly for a lot of jobs involving the electronics, the dealer is always your best bet.
