Hi everyone,

I have a 2006 Lincoln LS (3.9L V8) with about 60,000 miles and am having problems getting the P0352 code to clear/repaired. The check engine light popped on last week and after having the code pulled, I figured it was just a bad ignition coil. I was in a hurry, so I went with the Duralast COP from Autozone (I usually don't trust any of their parts after buying a bad thermostat from them about 18 months ago... but again, I wanted to get it fixed quick). I swapped the coils and the car seems to be running really well (It seemed to be running pretty well before the repair, perhaps a slight misfire while idling....), but today after barely driving the car over the past week the check engine light popped back on and it is showing the same P0352 code. I'd prefer not to have to take it to the dealership, but I am not good with electrical work and besides changing the coil I don't know what else I can do. Here is a quick breakdown:

Car= 2006 Lincoln LS 3.9L V8 with about 60,000 miles
Code=P0352
Repair=Changed #2 ignition coil with new Duralast coil
Usage since repair= Cars been out 3, maybe 4, times for about 25 miles average trip. I pulled the negative battery cable before making the repair which I knew would also clear the code... it is now back despite the repair.

I'm just looking for any suggestions before I give in and fork over some $$$$$ to the dealership....

No, you've pretty much done all you can. Swapping out one single coil with a sub par brand is pretty much what everyone does. Changing out the spark plug Is both unnecessary and a waste of time and money. Completely irrelevant ... my suggestion at this point would be to simply drop it off at the dealership, let them muck with it. There isn't anything further that you can do with respect to misfiring, nor isn't there much covered on the subject on this forum.

Just pay the dealership, might take 8 visits though.

Good luck!

While I actually do agree that the plug must be changed at the same time as the coil, not before, not after, You could check and make sure the the connector to the coil is fully seated and latched in. It should not be possible to pull the connector off without pressing on the latch at the same time.
Also, IMHO, the Duralast was a bad idea. Go with Motorcraft. Also, as mentioned, normally all coils and plugs need to be changed by the time that one has failed so badly.

Alright RigsLS, I deserve that; sorry for the hasty, unresearched post. I suck... well played... moving on. I was just frustrated that I tried taking the easy way out and it failed... just love that LS (baby the crap out of it and this is the first serious issue I've had).

So, I just need to bite the bullet and do all 8 ignition coils with spark plugs and if the issue remains then I have real problems. Thanks for the help joegr... and Rigls, in your own way. I really do appreciate it.

Almost every non-ford part made for this car is complete trash when it comes to engine and suspension components. We all agree that it sucks paying more but as you will come to find, that's just how it is. We've all been there, myself especially. I have spent so much money ordering parts twice, I couldn't accept that the aftermarket parts were lower quality.

Good luck!
