First of all let me bring myself up to speed on the hot /cold saga.

All at once the A/C started blowing HOT and the service parking brake light started coming on. I found that the light and the hot air issues were both due to a shorted out Dual Climate Control Valve (DCCV).

I saw melted plastic at the base of the DCCV solenoids, and after I replaced the DCC valve the service light issue was resolved. However, I now have cold air coming out of the passenger side and cool to warm air coming out of the drivers side. I did bleed the coolant system enough to get a steady stream coming out of the bleed valve.

WHERE DO I SEARCH NEXT?

Did you replace the blown fuse under the hood?

After that, check the connector to make sure you are getting voltage when you are supposed to. Likely the connector, wiring, or the HVAC control in the dash got messed up.

A blown fuse would result in full heat from both sides, all of the time. A loose/bad connector at the DCCV would result in more heat than desired, not less. Another wiring problem or an issue with the DATC is certainly possible, but coolant flow problems are much more common issues for low/no heat complaints. If the low heat problem is only at idle, then it could be a failed aux pump.

Well fine, rain on my parade! I've never seen a DCCV melt down. Everyone just says they fail/leak.

It had to rain somewhere... I've never seen one melt either, but I can see how it could be possible. It would just depend on exactly where one of the coils shorted internally. (I assume they short due to coolant leaking into the coils.)

Had the same thing happen about a month ago with my 2006 (even the "service parking brake" message). Cost almost $1,600 to repair (the DATC alone was around $800).

Now I hear noises from the AC that I don't remember hearing before it was fixed. :\
