Well, the day finally came. It took a lot of hard work and long hours...
but i did it: 200,000 miles!!!!!

I'd like to thank my wife, who was by my side most of the way.
My dogs, who although they have spent a lot of time in the backseat, you would never know it by looking at it.
To Arturo, Marcos and the rest of the crew at Prestige Car Wash for keeping her looking great!
To every passanger i ever had that showed the proper respect by not eating in the car, slamming the doors, and unnecessarily pushing buttons.

Yes, the LS is still running GREAT! It is not on the original tranny, but the engine still runs like a champ.
It's had the commom problems that most have had here. Some were repaired under warranty, and some over time. But never anything major.

Just wanted to share this happy ocassion with all of you.

And to all you rookies that have probably never put 100k on all your cars put together, i give you this advise:

When in doubt.... REPLACE THOSE DARN COILS!!!!!

I'm out... I'll be back for my 300k celebration :Beer

I've got 99k right now, so threads like this make me feel good! And yeah, once it gets warmer out I am replacing the 5 coils that were not done through warranty over the past year or so.

You're right, I probably haven't put 100k miles on my own vehicles, but I've probably put more then 100k miles on others cars and mainly company vehicles. I have 128k miles on my LS now and plan to have it well beyond 200k miles.

Sweet

115k and climbing, hope to get 200k to help average down all the repair costs.

Congratulations on that milestone. I plan on being there one day may take a while. I love my LS and don't plan on getting rid of it. One car that I am keeping in the collection.

noice...that's some hardcore seat time

I'd like to get there someday but I don't think I can see that far into the future...I'm only at 23k right now

at the rate I'm going...I'll be rinsing my dentures in a glass by the time that happens

200k and no timing chain issues? Impressive!

Now starting praying.

;)

Funny you say that, because i've been thinking of that as something that I should definately do soon. Unless it got done at some point under warranty, i know I have not paid to get that replaced.
About how much would that job cost me?

just how many coils does 200k miles go through?

Just recently I had all 8 replaced (did the ebay thing) Once a long long time ago I believe the dealer replaced 3 or 4. Then, maybe a year ago, i had one replaced. I kicked myself in the a$$ for only doing one.... but we were about to take the LS on vacation and I couldn't afford to replace them all. So i only had them replace the bad one.... but sure enough, once one goes bad...

So i made sure to replace them all before hitting 200k
