2010 SHO Joins the Fleet

i would still much rather have a 92' with a good ol stick shift. easy on the wallet yet fun to drive, and imo they are good looking cars!

I am trying to be enthusiastic!!:)

Some people want a little power but still have a family to haul around- try fitting four adults in a "Shelby or a Roush".

That was pretty much the idea behind the SHO originally, as I understand it. Their aging Mustang crowd needed something fun that could still haul groceries + kids.

well not many tall adults around here so they can fit fine in the back of a stang. Plus stangs have more aftermarket variety....hense the roush...

the Taurus SHO does look nice but way overpriced...I'd rather get a new mercedes E-class with just a few extra grand. Or maybe a C class AMG for a few more.......Audi RS4? cmon so many other choices :-D or an Infiniti 37S coupe or the AWD coupe or convertible....

A C class AMG cost more than a "few" grand more... Again you are comparing rear wheel drive V8 to front or all wheel drive V6-
And the sport coupe thing with the Infiniti...

Both the Benz and the Audi easily break $60000, the Taurus is mid forties even with many options.
If you would rather get one of those other cars why don't you?

That's right I forgot, most people who talk about other peoples cars usually can afford one themselves. It's sort of a way to make themselves feel better.

actually I'd rather live the life of no car parents. I can afford one of them but all I would be seeing is more power which I have no use for and a warrenty......maybe AWD if I hit up a luxury car with one..but that's it...that's not worth going from a 7k car payment to 40-60k If and when my Lincoln is undrivable or the MPG is outlawed then I'll get a new car. But I'm not gonna be another idiotic American buying into the concept that you MUST have a car payment and MUST buy a house. Pshhh

Well if you don't have a car payment and would rather rent from someone (which is making the mortgage payment for them by the way) then where does all your money go?
For some reason you don't strike me as the type to be stockpiling your savings account. I guess I am assuming you do actually work more than a couple hours a week...
So my question is are you one of those people who claim they don't want payments because they "don't want to buy into the concept" that once you grow up you actually do have to have financial responsibilities however small or large they may be?
Or are you the type that claims they "don't want to buy into the concept" because having financial obligations would dip into their party/booze/stripper money which is much more important than planning for a future?
I'm guessing both-
But what do I know? I'm just another idiotic american with a great career, college education, college educated wife (who is also successful), mortgage, and two nice cars.
I guess I should trade all of that so I can work out all the time, post on every single topic on LVC (whether I know anything about the topic or not), and rent from someone for the rest of my life...
Yeah I'll get right on that-

What do you mean? People are just sick of Sweet P's comments. I have ignored him for long enough, I had to let a little steam off. I did not mean to contribute to the douchbaggery.

I think this guys SHO is a nice car which is what this thread is about.

I just find it hilarious that someone who can't even spell claims he could drive a AMG Benz or S4 Audi. Yet the reason he claims he doesn't is because he won't buy into the idiotic american idea that you have to have payments to get things. I am all for living in your price range, and not getting into debt. However once you have a family and things like that most (not all) people do want to have an actual home, if for nothing else but tax purposes. And not many people in their 20's, 30's or even 40's who are not wealthy pay cash for a home. It has nothing to do with being an idiotic american. If any idea is idiotic it's the one that promotes that they can live the rest of their lives without any financial obligations. You eventually do have to grow up.

Comparing a SHO to a Benz is really not a a fair comparison. Realistically, if we're going to look at a $66k RS4, that means the SHO should be allowed to spend $28k in mods to arrive at the same price. And after $28k in mods... I doubt the RS4 would stand a chance.

In all fairness, the same $38k required to get a SHO would also get a G8 GXP, which does 0-60 in under 5 seconds and the quarter in about 13 flat. The SHO will take 5.2 and 13.7ish for the same measures.

Part of me says I'd grab the G8 because it's true RWD, while the other part of me says "factory forced induction = big power easily". In the end I'd probably go for the SHO.

You absolutely made my point luxuryrules!

Although the G8 is smaller, has a V8 and rear wheel drive, it is at least comparable in price. The HP for the GT is about the same as the SHO as well. My buddy has a 08 G8 GT and it's pretty quick, but if I were to buy one or the other I would probably buy the SHO too.

lol and it's the same idiotic America that drove the economy into this downfall. Maybe if I do end up getting married that might all change but my statistic view won't push me to pile onto the debt train. And good for you on letting off some stream, why the hell do you think I act on the forums the way I do? I'm LVCs goddamn clown..I purposely act this way to aid the laughter of retardedness and critisism. Even the comments aimed toward I are found entertaining.

Growing up doesn't mean you need to fine on debt btw, it's a American fixation, just like big@ss weddings and expensive wedding rings...f*ck them

Many factors brought America to this downfall, but I understand what you mean about jumping on the debt train. Which is why in general people should never buy things they cannot truly afford.
On the other hand if you cut someones income in half or completely eliminate their income then they will struggle and probably lose much what they have worked hard to get. It's happened to me, I know. No one can truly prepare for a complete elimination of income.
So where does the line exist?
Do you never buy anything ever on credit or through a loan because somehow someday you might lose your income? To each their own I guess, but what I have works for me-

Back to the original topic-
Tint that SHO 15%!!

Now that we have returned to our regularly scheduled programming, Roadboss have you driven it yet? And can we talk you into indulging us with your impressions?

Bump.

I'm hoping to get some firsthand driving impressions!

Also... I found it rather interesting to note that when I priced out a Maxima (never realized how expensive they were), it's in the same 38k range as the SHO & G8GXP. But it's the slowest :)

That's cause Nissan & Infiniti overprice their sh*t so much for cheap imports :p

nice! seemed a lil surprised when you hit 70 lol! When are you gonna take some ridin videos of twss? (the whinin silver streak)

I've driven the SHO, and I have to ask Roadboss - why didn't your son go for a CTS-V - a much better car?

Ah, he bleeds Ford blue... I understand Roadboss

Probably about $15,000 difference, depending on trim level of the SHO... the ones that have 'average' trim seem to be going out the door for around $45...

CTS-V - around $60... not a lot of options available...

Well worth every extra penny... 556 ponies moves you, and 551 pound-feet at 3800 rpm moves you fast...;)
