2011 Genesis Coupe

Because their garbage. Rust buckets that sound like crap with exhaust. Any exhaust! Then everyone who has a mustang tries to modify it. Down side, you ask? Mustang mods are a dime a dozen. And you can count on driving down the street and passing atleast 2 other mustang with the same mods you have!!! Oh yeah and owners of said mustang all think " their" mustang is the sh!t. IMHO it's just sh!tty. But to each their own. I'm sure there are people who hate the LS. I'm cool with that.

Same here, everyone seems to have one or know someone real close that has one.

Mustangs are a dime a dozen. Cobras and gt500s not so much.

No matter how much anyone hates mustangs the truth is that the 5.0s are beast. But there is no luxury whatsoever.

+1 on the 5.0 I have it in my f150. Have a boss 302 intake manifold sitting, waiting for my truck to come back from the stealership

I wouldnt mind having a 5.0 but the mustangs are built cheap. They look nice on the outside but the inside looks cheap and ugly.

The suspension under them isn't exactly class leading either.

The front of the genesis looks pretty cool, but the side/rear looks ugly and disproportional. Looks similar to the g37, but not close enough, I like the g37 better.

I haven't seen the new mustangs from the inside, but I was playing with that build your own mustang ad and mine came out pretty cool, enough to consider buying but I know I wont.

Id love a mustang exterior with lincoln badges and mks interior based off the falcon.

dream car right there!! but it wont happen.

Think an LS can out handle a GT on a track??

You ls boys must be dreaming.

It handles extremely well. The dew98 platform is no joke. It proved it in Germany.

I've taken it around some twisty turns and it hugs the road but haven't taken it to a track. It sure as hell doesn't drive like a sedan.

it really could use a LSD though. tight lower speed corners and coming out under power always seem to spin the inner tire like crazy.

Yeah. But for being a near 4000lb luxury sedan it handles itself well.

Especially a lowered one with some wide tires. Even at stock ride height it's much lower than other cars. I can't clear curbs and always scrape my front bumper at stick ride height.

Too vague. I assume you meant the new 5.0 Mustang GT. Cause if you meant Ford GT, then hell to the no. LOL

My opinion on a new Mustang GT 5.0 is that the LS would loose in general. It would probably be better on something like a slalom where the suspension and then tires is really what determines performance. I imagine it would fair better on hairpins and other lower-speed corners unpowered corners. The LS probably lets you brake later which should help your approach on turns.

But lacking an LSD, wider tires, and more power I don't see the LS doing better on much else. I think tires and an LSD would go a long way to closing that gap, but what the Mustang looses in speed to turn it makes up for in a hurry on anything remotely straight. Your only hope is that the design of the track doesn't allow it to effectively put down much of it's power, allowing a more nimble car to fair better.

If I were going to do a list of priorities to track a stock LS, they would be (and currently are):
1) Better tires (I got rims I liked too)
2) Front brake upgrade, including 320mm rotors, good pads, stainless lines (already done, as an interim measure)
3) Lower 1" with sport springs and Bilsteins (In process of collecting parts and time)
4) 8.8" conversion with LSD and 4:10 gears (Missing the TrueTrac, CV axles, and time to fabricate it all up)
5) Boost the 3.9L or swap engines for more power!
6) A big brake upgrade for real track use

Honestly, the biggest factor in who would win a race is the driver. A car can only do so much to help, or hurt, someone's times. But I am assuming we are removing the human element from the argument and talking about the cars only :)

What do you guys think about an acura TL? Its a 2006 with 94000 fully loaded for $15000 2000 under KBB value. Have any of you heard anything bad about them?

Is that correct?! 94K miles? Personally I wouldn't spend 15 grand on a car with almost 100k. Even though Acura's are a very good car. I test drove one before I bought my first LS. loved it, but it was out of my price range.

It's a V6 fwd Honda accord in a suit. Still sound worth 15k??

Yea I see what you guys are saying but I don't drive too much. Ive had my LS for about 4 years and I have only put on 22000 miles on it. so the high mileage is that big of a deal for me. Plus I feel my tranny is about to give on the ls. The car only has 75000 miles on it and it has cost me a lot of money to fix.

If you don't drive much and don't care about the driving experience or luxury then get a friggin' hybrid and be done with it.
