2015 National Meet Interest Thread

the gto world has gotten the same way. the 04's are a dime a dozen.
one guy even put a set of rockstars on his.

oh well...

Dam you guys, Carlisle Ford Nationals is that same weekend, June 5-7

^ damn, exit52 off I-81S, Petro Carlisle, Carlisle PA, huge truck stop, have landed there many of times, may even be doing that soon if this new gig comes through, will have to remember June 5-7th see if I can line up with it. Cool beans Frank!

If all goes well, I'll have the only LS at the show... I've never seen one there. The MkVIII club shows up, the Marauder club shows up, even a few Merkurs show up, but there's not much else from 1985+ in terms of non-Ford Fords.

I just hope I have something special done with the car by then to be worthy of the show. Black chrome and not misfiring isn't all *that* special for an LS, lol

Im in. My home town is just across the river. I can confirm on FB as well. Plastidip will stay at home, and 8 new coils (especially #4) will help. First post and good to be here.

I love that truck stop. My second choice was always the Flying J on the East side of I-81. The TA at x77 Harrisburg / Manada Hill/ West Hanover was one I liked too. Damn! I miss Truckin '!

... Damn! I miss Truckin '!

You sure about that now!

I'm considering doing Carlisle on Friday and leaving that evening for StL... 12 hours of driving in maybe 20 hours real time? I might have to get the girlfriend on the insurance and split the driving... only an 80% me/20% her split haha. As it turns out, Carlisle is on 76, which I would take anyway to get to 70 from home, so it gives me a 2-hour headstart.

My main concerns lie in potential overheating issues mainly. I have no idea of any cooling component replacements being done. On the other hand, she wants a vacation and I've never seen the US west of mid PA

Your insurance should cover anyone that drives your car. Call your insurance company and ask. Mine does. I have progressive. All my policies have covered anyone else who would be driving my vehicle. If not, her insurance should cover her driving anyone else's vehicle. I used to work for progressive too.

Maybe my dad lied to me to cut down on the stupidity back in high school. Maybe my dad was misinformed/never checked up on it himself (which I haven't done yet either). Both are plausible. It's not like I let anyone drive my cars anyway...

I'll look into it. I need to check on a bunch of other things anyway

Frank, remind me of that date at Carlisle,
if I'm passing through on that same said time, I could swing in at the fair grounds and come visit.

They'd let me park a 70' there, no?

June 5-7. And maybe not at the fairgrounds, and maybe not on a local's lawn, but I'm sure there's some truck stop stuff or something nearby... it's not like there's anything else to do in PA outside the Poconos besides drive somewhere else

Yeah seriously, there were several posts of the most hideous vehicles that weren't LS's and the poster was asking what everyone thought about it. Worst part is, most people seemed to be really into a dodge ram with fold down doors and TVs for a tailgate.

^+1

if I haven't talked to you since high school, then there is probably a reason...

if I wanted you to know what is going on in my life right this minute, I would just pick up the phone and call you...

I wouldnt try to hijack a thread or anything but a meet at a place like Deal's Gap would be much more fun. As far as I know there is nothing special about St. Louis.......
