I dont beleive so, i can fab most of the parts myself. For the ones i cant, i have friends who can. Trust me it will cost less then 2g's easy. I wouldn't be atempting it otherwise, as i dont have deep pockets.
Becuase if I have to explain it to you .... you probably wont understand.. so i'm not going to waste my time.. ANYTHING can be done... If he really wants that 2jz in his LS... I'm sure painless would have no problem helping him... at a PRICE...

Actually i do understand...pretty well actually...only thing i just said was that he beleives i can continue using the factory spedo and tach. I said nothing of windows, window locks, or anything else for that matter. I am already aware i have to rewire all these things to keep them functional.
The network in an LS speaks "SCP" which stands for Standard Corporate Protocol. In otherwords, it's a proprietary network standard, so you're not going to have much luck with any standard type of communication. You're best bet would be to attempt to reverse engineer an NGS. In the future, more and more Ford products are likely to start migrating toward CAN (Controller Area Network), which is a standard protocol (PS, this is just speculation, I'm not involved with in-vehicle network applications). At least then you'll have a better chance of finding some software to start with. The 2003 LS is the first Ford product to use CAN (other manufacturers use it already), but only for powertrain diagnostics. Everything else still speaks SCP. It's a step in the right direction, but a baby step.
I gurantee that guy does not know the LS well enough. The only way this will work is if you use everything electrical and all the computer stuff,..etc,..etc from the Supra from the gauge cluster all the way down to the smallest of sensors. Basicaly you will have a Supra with a LS body and interior and that is it in the end.
Its not rewireing that will in the end be the issue its basicaly the damn programing! There is nothing you can do to use the LSes computer and have it register these parts and there is no way of using the Supra computer and have it register all the LSes parts.
Again i understand the FACT i cannot use the factory FEM, or any of the factory lincoln wiring. Im not sure why everyone continues to try to make this point. I am talking about using a supras ecu to get the tach and speedo signal, and using a signal interface to run the factory cluster (HOPEFULLY). I am not talking about or considering the idea of some how marrying the 2 ecu's together to work in harmony. That would be litteraly impossible. I am only trying to figure out what can be rewired to work and what cannot. I am only trying to see how street-able it can be made. I have built many cars and done many motor swaps in the past and i know somethings will be lost in doing this...So please do not continue to tell me these things!
street legal is my goalEMPIRELS - are you trying to remain street legal or is this a track only?
