Why should only a slim minority of people benifit from this.

IF the Gov can afford to payout 4500 for clunkers then they are OBVIOUSLY TAXING the people TOO MUCH.

I totally agree. If they want to stimulate the economy, why just the auto makers and why just a billion (or two or three)? Give ME my $4500 back so I can buy whatever I want!

They bailed out the wrong people. Give me bail out bucks to pay off MY cc, catch up MY mortgage, pay MY student loans, let ME stimulate the economy. They should have helped US help our banks and mortgage companies. Instead they gave it to the same people that ran companies into the ground so they could have million dollar bonuses.

Most of America is still in debt, unemployed, and getting foreclosed upon. But the fat cats are well feed, bills are payed, and their mortgage is current or paid off. My ass hurts from the no Vaseline quickie the government is still giving me daily.

Clunker program is a scam. Government is giving money so people can buy a product the government owns. When do I get my dividend check for my shares of GM stock that pres yomomma bought with my money?

Time for a revolution :eek: Just my$.005 (all it's really worth)

I was listening to talk radio on the way home tonight.... they had Diane Rogers on, she is an economist.
She said that $4500 is part of the deficit... it will cost over 10,000 to pay each deal back. :eek:

People have no idea how much money is being spent.
 
I agree, its total bs.

On the upside because of this Ford has made a better profit then they have in 2 years. At least people are buying American.

And they want to start a program like that in Canada. I say no fricken way, but Libs kinda run this country - so who knows. MY tax dollars will subsidize people with cars in the late 90's so they can get a new car.

Meanwhile, financially responsible, debt-free me - keeps driving old 'junk'.

BTW - I thought the Mark8's didn't qualify for the clunker program due to their GOOD gas milage?

From what I read, they can take any part of the car except anything dealing with the driveline (engine, tranny, etc...). But I bet most of these scrap yards are gonna be so flooded with these clunkers that they won't even bother.

After talking with the guy at the pull a part this afternoon, they will be able to sell everything but the engine and some transmissions (mainly 3 speed autos w/o a lock up converter). My local u pull it is on the authorized list to get these cars and should be getting them within a week or so. They have no idea what they are getting though.

But since the vast majority of their revenue is from the drivetrain, what do you think they are gonna do???

You go to the C4C page and if you agree to their terms then the government OWNS your PC and everything on it and can share it with who they want!
