I was quoted $996 to do my 30K service from a independent ford certified shop called the Ford Doctors. The dealership was chargin $549 but didnt include even half of the things this guy is going to do to my car.

This is what is included
http://www.forddoctors.com/rec30000.htm

and this is his website
http://www.forddoctors.com/

do you think its worth it?

my car has 46,985 miles on it and its an 05 i know im late for my 30k:(

personally i wouldnt do it. seems like way too much money. i had my tranny serviced for $69. radiator can be done for about the same. you can top off all fluids yourself for cheap money and have extra left over for when you need it. and cross off all the things he put as just inspect. inspect is nothing you will have to pay more if it need to be replaced or fixed. and most of the other stuff like timing adjustment and idle adjustment you wont need. sounds like a waste of money. you can save hundreds...

There is a big difference between what they do & what Ford says needs to be done. Unless you feel better ($500 better) about having extra stuff done, I would not do it. Several things don't even apply.
Hell, you all ready missed it by 15k - just change the oil & pick it up at the next big service interval

i went back today to see why its so much and he gave me a list of the parts and labor

"Equipment Useage Fees"? "Tech Inform"? What the heck are those?? Wait, I'll take a guess. Rental of the equipment needed to work on your car, and time taken for the tech to learn how to work on your car! :D

I'm with FuzzyB on this one. Just do the dealer's service. I have a feeling the Ford Doctors are a bunch of quacks.
