4.25" to 4.5" Bolt Circle Change on the "Inexpensive"

someone is going to end up slapping me, but its just a glorified spacer? it goes between hub and rotor? or its like a sleeve down the center of the rim. i mean if the hubs are drilled correctly shouldnt everything be centered?for some reason its just baffling me unless its helping offset the rim closer to where its supposed to be.

The rings only make the hub center ring larger if your "new" rims have a larger ID center hole. They help "support" the rim on car so its not just using the studs to support car.

i bet its mostly the friction from the compression that holds the wheel in place, and the centering ring just centers the wheel so it tightens down in the middle.

I agree as I just stopped using them on my original Bullit Chinese Wheels on my '96. Came with plastic spacers and when I changed the tires I just left the spacers out and it made no difference.

Ya, I just put them in there because people seem to get upset when you don't use them.

Its funny you go to dragstrip and not one person is using rings. Alot of them like me are using shanked lugs though.

i get the jist now.thanks. as a question of taste ( not trying to hijack thread) i was going 10" in the rear no matter what the saleen style goes right to the edge of rim and the other has a 2" lip giving that deep dish look. iwanted to stay black with the chrome lip or just black all the way but they dont make the saleen style with a lip the closest is the grey ive seen all three in person and really wanted the deep dish look but the all black saleen style still looks great
