I have a 5 speed from and 84 mustang. Will this bolt in? How hard is this to do. I have everthing pedals, cables etc. I own a 1988 Mark VII B.B edition.
Thanks guys. Im new here. Just got the car saturday and cant wait to mod it

It's a piece of cake. The pedals are the hardest (read: pain in the ass) part of the swap.

Don't powershift the thing and provided the trans is in good shape, it should last you a while.

Welcome... :Beer

(ILL, I looked up that link and it asked for a password)

Yeah, it can be done in a day's work. Depending on your knowledge and stuff.
I did mine in a single car gagrage, back when I had no powertools and there were no "web-links" :Bang
but now in transfering it all to my '91, I get a chance to do it right.

Hey, Be careful with your '84 tranny unless you know the milage and condition. That's not a very stout unit and your Mark is much heavier than a stang..
You may want to look into having a local 'stang shop rebuild it with Ford World-Class guts before you go to all this work. About $690.
The best factory T-5's are '90 - '93's. Cobras' even better.

Have fun with it, it's an awsome mod for the Mark VII !

NYC i couldnt find the pain in the ass section.? And ILL it askkng for the password.
Is there any place where it has a guide on how to do this.?
What about my stock drive shaft , will it work??
Not sure. I wanna do it labour day weekend, so i wanna read up about this as much as i can, thanks

Well, I ended up collecting a few of t-5 swap links over the years. But they're all innactive, now.
Your driveshaft will work but not effectively. The yolk is short of fitting tight. You'll probably get some vibration and leak a lot of tranny fluid. Get a custom one fitted or modify a Crown Vic shaft, at a driveshaft shop, after you do the swap.

You gotta register to see it. :N

Takes like 2 minutes to do so and its free. :Beer

BTW, it was written with great details and pictures by disney lincoln, he frequents on the FVC board, he's very knowledgeable and helpful.

Going with a t5, you will want a c4 yoke. Going with a tremec, you will want a c6 yoke.

You can use your stock driveshaft i believe, but its not recommended.

Best thing to do is get a used crown vic aluminum shaft cut and balanced to 58.5" from mounting flange to tranny seal, or get a new shaft made, with the same measurements.

what about a driveshaft from the mustang with the 5 speed?? Just a thought not sure if it will work though.

No problem, helped me out with most of the small things when i installed the tremec.
