'70 Eldo in the Garage

Yo! I registered here a while ago, but I've never really done anything.

My pop's got a 70 eldo just sleeping in the garage for years now. We've got it back on the road in hopes that we'll get back to restoring it one day.

We don't have any real experience in working on cars, but I've recently started driving, and working on my 1994 GMC Sonoma. (I spend alot of my time at s10forum.com)

Anyway, just wondering if anyone else here has done some jobs on the 70 eldo's and if they've got any starter tips

Dump the old fluids, oil, ps, coolant, transmission, and differental. Make sure top flush all of them before you put in new stuff. Change all filters, including the transmission screen. Most importantly, get the front end suspension and all bearings lubed!. Run premium gas only. Stay under 80 on the turn pike.

well its front wheel drive check the cv joints up front. you have the most powerfull eldorado, the 70 model had the highest compression and 400 hp. ive got a 71(the first year the convertable came back) it was rated at 365hp, anyway, all the trivia aside they shure are nice lookin arent they? i dont know if youve noticed this but on mine the rear drum brakes are hard to work on id take them to a shop unless uve done a few brakes before.(which i hadnt) good luck on stuff man.

actually i read your other forum it sounds like ur not gonna sell it but if u did how much would u want for it, or do u know anyone else with a similar one that needs work and the want to sell it?
