Well, I never thought I would do this, but here I am, selling my 93. I never thought I would be doing this, but I can no longer own two of them, so I am going to keep my 97 Mark. So I need to sacrifice one. Take a look at my website for some more photos of what I've done to it, as well as my photo garage.

Check this thread for photos of the paint job.

I recently got it painted Mercedes Benz Silver, It has HID lights, Black interior. Dash is from a 96, just to accomodate the input of an Avic D1 radio with navigation and XM. Transmission is strong, it was rebuilt when I bought the car back in 2004. The heat dosen't work. The blend door issue. I never fixed it. Totally new fuel system including a 255 lph wahlbro fuel pump, and a high pressure fuel regulator. The speedometer was changed do to a sticking tach, so the odometer has some 58000 miles on it, when in reality, it has 150000 miles. It also has nice stereo system. All infinity speakers, amps, and one 10" sub. Everything I've done, I've posted threads on it. I am asking $3500.

When I swapped the dash for one from a 96, I delayed the project a week while I searched for one, and could't find one.

okay, in general, how long will a properly maintained Mark VIII last untill it eats your wallet?

Ok. Gman is gonna hate us for hijacking his thread, but I'll tell you what. you tell me how many licks it takes, and I'll tell you how many miles, to the decimal. :p

Generally, about 100K for the fuel pump, air ride, stuff like that. The motors will run for 250K if they were properly maintained.

Trannies, again.. 100-150K.

Tires... Uhh. lets not go there.

Stuff will wear out and break on a 14 year old car, nothing much you can do about it.

how maly licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop.

I got bored once 969 licks...

GMan takes great care of his cars... spends a lot of time... as no one can gaurentee how long a car will last I would trust this car for a while.

On a side note... I purchased my 93 Mark VIII in June of 2004 with 159,000 miles on it. It now has 210,000 miles on it. My daughter uses it as her daily driver, took it to school every day for the last 2 year 60 mile total trip.

Car runs great...

She's taking it to college this coming fall. I am not worried that it will last her 4 more years.

No problem hijacking my thread, long as the means justify the ends. Sorry for that link now working. This LINK should work fine. As far as my 93 is concerned, my 93 is in Excellent shape. Everything that new members log onto this site to get answers to, has already been done to my Mark. Including all of the things that Frogman mentioned. One thing i forgot to mention was the exhaust job I had done. This Mark is ready to ride.
