OK, when i bought my 93, the trans. would kick itself out of OD and into neutral while driving, so i let off gas until it would catch a gear, changed fluid and filter and so on, i drove it like that for 2 years until it finally gave out, i got another transmission from everdive three weeks ago, installed it and it does the same d*@n thing, i changed the trans. speed sensor, intake air temperature sensor, PCM, still no luck you drive along at 50 or 60 then kicks out of 4th into a neutral state, rpm's jump from 1700 or so to 3500.... any ideas?

I'm gonna bet the mlps sensor is out of adjustment. This sensor tells the trans which posision the gear lever is in. It might be sensing it's in neutral.

thanks for the info, after reading what you said about the mlps, i read up on it and all the symptoms seem to fit, on friday i'll get under there and check it out, will post what i find, thanks again.

I had the exact same problem on a 94 that I had. Swapped the mlps off of a parts car I had and it took care of the problem.

good deal, a confirmation, thanks chargerxr, now i feel a little better, it was starting to worry me

I just wanted to thank all for the MLPS info, that was the problem, I got a new one from Advance auto for $42.00, didn't have to change the plug, put it on, and have driven it for 4 days with no kicking into neutral when i drive. As a just in case, i also bought 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators and springs for cheap from http://www.transmissionpartsusa.com/ so that'll be my next project, although since the MLPS sensor change, my shifts have gone to super smooth, i almost can't feel it changing gears, so the accumulators are on the back burner for now.
